Project 1999

Post by Jedis »

I figured I'd create a sub-forum for Project 1999, with Daybreak officially sanctioning the use of the emulator.

What do you think about Project 1999? I started a character on their server last night and have been playing a bit this morning.

Never played it, but I would be bored playing the original EQ.

Spent the afternoon with a group killing orc centurions and oracles. Managed to make level 5! Was interesting to see 39 people in Greater Faydark. There were over 1,200 people online on the server. Brought back nostalgic memories from 1999.

Yeah, it's crazy that the emulation server has higher population than most eq servers.

Edit: I wonder if the new progression server will get close to P99.

I decided to give it a whirl. So far I've managed to hit level 20, mostly with groups. Not being twinked to the teeth when exiting a tutorial means things can be rough. However it's rough on everybody so the you against the world attitude doesn't seem to exist but rather you and everybody around you against orcs, ghouls and skeletons.

It's a lot of fun so if you'd like to give it a whirl I'll be happy to chat with you.
