Fallout New Vegas

Post by SilverbladeTE »

smurf this is a fantastic game! :)
ok i'ts a bit buggy, less so on the PC thna on consoles
but wow, play it on Hardcore mode on Hard difficulty for real fun! Very Hard is really bloody hard because difficulty is up a lot, unliek Fo3, where deathclaws were whimps, they are back to being ass r*pers, lol.

way more to do/get involved with, better use of factions reputation AND karma etc etc

hardcore mode = food/water is an issue, you cna make food/drink with many recipes
reload spent shells, and make yer own ammo, etc etc (can' make armour piercing amoo though, smurf!! really need that for deathclaws, soem other armoured threats)

tons of funny stuff especially if you take the WIld Wasteland perk (adds whacky stuff)

casinos!! I own at blackjack, lol (seriously, 8 Luck form implant, base score and item) and skill at cards (used to be a whizz at Pontoon etc)

I pre-ordered collector's edition, as I adore the Flalotu games, very neat, pack of Flalout cards, chips, the Plaitnum chip formt he game, comic book
and you get special DLC: armoured suit, gun etc depending on who you uy the set form.

cannot recoomend this highly enough, RPG and 1st perosn shooter done brillliantly :)

lot sof set peice fights, suprise ambushes all kinds of things.

.50 Cal Anti-Materiel rifle, booyah! though my faves are the leve action WInchesters, game lets you mod them (buy mods form vendors), 11 shot rapid fire .357 cowboy repeater kicks ass!

much MUCH fun :)

Yeah they basically took all the good mods from FO3 and incorporated them into FNV, like Weapon Mod Kits, Triage, Primary Needs, etc.

I skipped Hardcore mode because I can't play at the default timescale setting (1/30). I set it to something more realistic like 1 to 5, but with hardcore mode enabled you die of thirst every time you sleep. Can't wait for the FWE team to make a proper hardcore mode.

There's a lot of tongue-in-cheek stuff from earlier Fallout iterations that was missing in FO3, good times. Like the waster that wants you to help him out only to backstab you (literally). And launching the Ghouls into orbit on the ICBM's while Ride of the Valkyrie's plays in the background, priceless.

I blundered into the Deathclaw quarry pit at level 10 or 11, that was serious business. I ended up having to stand on top of the frontloaders and use all my precious 5.56 AP on em.

aye, they added the fun from FO2 in, and much more RP etc, and made it more difficult in combat (which is a GOOD thing, it was too easy in most of FO3).
Really has ot be played on Hard or more, on Hardcore mode to make it nice and juicy ;)
well on the PC anyway

gonan have ot ge tme one ot the Ranger Sequia pistols, smurf they are SO frekaing cool :)

he's using hollow points on giant radscorpions, lol, dumb idea, they have very high damage threshold or he'd gnak them!

My issue with fonv is the same i have with fo3 and oblivion. the games are too easy even on the most difficult setting. I had to stop wearing any form of armor in NV just so fights had a chance to kill me. Glad the mod community is good and will fix that.

Project Nevada (from the FWE team) released. Doesn't look like they've done the rebalance yet, but sounds great so far.. downloading now!
