Busy at work.

Post by Danille »

Busy at work right now, have taken a few days off from playing defense against the spammers. It's been taking me about 2-3 hours per week to fight it and I just dont have the time right now.

Is there some other way to set things up to make it tougher for them to get in?

Can we set up a "must be approved by admin" to post?

Heck, I'd even go through the list each morning if need be.

Maybe we need more board mods?

The mods are good at removing the stuff, the spammers are just good at doing it quickly all at once.

I'd welcoem a requirement that one must be approved by an admin before one could post, in all but one forum. There one could post their wish to be aproved "Hi, i'm doofus from some-random-server and i'd like to post here" and if anyone vouched for them - they get approved by the next admin on. Otherwise, the admins approve applicants at thier leisure.

Heck, I don't think they'd even need to be vouched for. Just as long as they know to say they're a mage on blahbittyblah server would probably be good enough.

Agreed, simply set any new user as being unable to post (or register) until approved by a board mod.

I agree

1st We need more Mods - Danille is the only active mod we have here.

2nd We need to set it up, sadly, so that registations are approved my a mod before anyone can post (I THINK it can be set up so that you can make one post then have to have approval before you can post again)

Danille does a good job but they are doing it all by themselves at the moment, which is just not right
