Pet Mitigation: Parses and Discussion-Posts removed by Mod

Post by Jesup »

I have posted multiple times on the outcry to nerf pets once again. I have stayed on topic and this is what I get.

Greetings,

I have removed a post by you for being non-constructive. You may find the post below. I ask you please review the forum guidelines and policies on posting at this time.

“Pets don't need to be nerfed. They can only tank if no PC character is w/in NPC melee range, which limits our group make up. While pets may mitigate well, how well do they keep aggro if a necro or wizard gets over zealous. The pet standing there getting beat might mitigate better than a PC, but with activated abilities and ability to snap aggro from PC while being able to hold aggro in the first place from melee PCs far outweighs a couple hundred dps difference in mitigation when you have some toon going afk while he runs thirty minute parses over and over and over and over and posts over and over and over simply to get the attention of others who will ZOMG NERF NERF NERF. This happens all the time, and I hope you win Daegun. Because this entire thread makes me /yawn. And you are one of only a few warriors that are posting over and over, because most that have posted who have a clue have said, yep we are fine, life is good, you simply won't stop until they shut this thread down again and you get what you came for, which we both know it is class envy, not you fishing for more mitigation.”
Cheers,

I actually got banned for 3 days for pointing out people who were contradicting themselves in one post to the next. Unsurprisingly, it was when I was calling out Brogett for lying when I got banned.
This kind of scares me. Sony has never let such a nerf discussion carry on like this. I'm worried its because they intend to follow the plebeians' advice.

Yeah the thread is psychotically insane. I honestly can't believe the thread is still alive.

I got banned forum banned for 2 specific reasons 1. for mass reporting a few posts as nerf calls and questioning why it isnt a locked thread and 2. for making a post claiming the guys charts lack credibility if he is not even willing to go out and put the effort into his character to replace a charm aug that is literally 5 years old. If he lacks the knowledge or dedication to do something as basic as that then who knows what other limitations the guy has knowledge wise.

The entire thread is pretty sad, and all it is doing is rallying more people against mages with pretty charts and shiny colors. The hilarious thing is a few people in the thread are now claiming SK pets and mage fire pets can tank better than real tanks now... ROFLMFAO whut? just because mitigation on them is decent does not mean those pets can tank better, they still die in like 1 round of combat,

The goal of some of the people in that thread seems to be killing the game for other players - they are slowly but surely succeeding. I just hope it is worth it to them when they realize there will be some retaliation.

The community + thread is being very poorly managed at the moment and I even if things suddenly change and they lock the thread though they avoided doing their job long enough for the damage to already be done. I have every intention in the world to pay it forward if i see any major nerfs in the coming month.

Mages are a decent class at the moment but we're not at the top of the tower as some like to say. The top classes at the moment are berserker, wizard, and warrior imo (warriors used to be bad off but that is most certainly not the case at the moment) Mages are near the top but not AT the top and yet we're getting called out by classes higher on the power charts than us? lol what a dick move.

The problem is that people want warriors to be god mode and like it used to be. They want to hit /autoattack and stay alive forever. People don't want to put effort into playing their toon because then they can't play eq while watching Jersey Shore/The Real World/The Kardashians/Porn, eating breakfast, texting their bff, and posting about nerfing classes on the forum all at the same time.

Part of this might also be because warriors are treated like rockstars on raids. Mages ARE a good class but we are interchangable with other dps classes etc. The first people benched on raids are dps (in underfoot mages got benched early since mages were NOT in a good place in that expansion but DPS classes generally are more used to not being vital to a raid. Warriors are absolutely must have on raids though and as such it goes to their heads that they virtually never get benched. In non dkp guilds warriors also get treated like royalty when it comes to loot.

Don't get me wrong gearing up warriors is absolutely very important and it is smart to let your main tanks gear up on raids.. but i guess that's starting to roll over into the group game too and they want to be the easy mode princesses in all forms of content.

I do wanna add one thing here since i've been banned on the forums since soon after the thread came into existence and wrongfully got re-unlocked. I also don't plan to engage the tanks directly on evilgamer further since it's currently a bit of a circle jerk over there amongst a few posters.

People keep saying on the forums mages have no defense for the way things are, it's silly though it most certaily is a nerf call thread, mitigation is only a tiny tiny tiny portion of overall tanking and they are grasping at straws to find reasons to nerf our pets even though all tank classes can tank EVERYTHING in the plane of war AND everything in raid content as it stadns (aka they are fine)

Mage pets are limited in so many forms of content that they are capable of tanking, high DS mobs, groups with melee classes (less than half the classes in eq as i said elsewhere can function with a pet tank), mobs with compliant lurch style abilities, belly casters, plane of war named mobs etc, mobs in chapterhouse mission which will DT a pet that are engaged to it too long *they dont do this to player tanks*, mobs that require precise placement for the sake of emotes such as the chelsith mission, etc.

THere are tons of locations where pet tanking does not function, pets tank very well but i've seen well played warriors out tank my pet, showing that there is far more involved in tanking than mitigation.

SOE forums are full of a bunch of mental simpletons atm grasping at straws and desperatly wanting mitigation charts to be the holy grail of tanking so that they may get pets nerfed. It's sickening.

I also laugh pretty hard at the people in that thread saying it isn't a nerf thread, they are either extremely naive or stupid in real life - either way those people have my sincere pity.

I assume you're referring to the SOE forums, as I don't see any posts being censored here?
Yes, he is discussing SOE's main forums. There is a 30+ page long thread there basically asking for pet mitigation to be nerfed for no other reason than warrior's think it's too high. It's been locked and unlocked and umpteen posts have been deleted. A few people have even been suspended at times.

I have had my posts removed on the SoE forums for pointing out flaws in parsing, etc. I was later informed that many of the warriors and a crt is reporting my posts. I emailed the higher ups and waiting for another response. I also received a response from a community head that said my posts were fine and "I see nothing wrong with them, man." Yet, my posts won't be put back up because "usually when we remove a post we do not repost it." So, apparently, they can call for straight nerf calls, but I can't defend my class. This is pretty stupid, and not a smart business move in my mind. I know of at least 7 mages that have been banned for defending the class, or pointing out nerf calls are unwarranted, yet the warriors/ crt (you know which one I am talking about) are straight calling for nerfs and nothing is being done about it.

Edit: If you want to get someone's attention that matter's at SoE, post on reddit. It's your best chance, sadly.
