New and in need of help

I recently returned to EQ after about 7 years about a week ago, I made a new magician named Tukh, have been using this site for spell lists, leveling guides etc.. and going well so far, I just achieved level 60, my plan is to stop at 61 when I get new air pet and farm aas...

My problem is the higher I get the more difficult it is to find spells, it was an annoyance at 50, but now at 60 its terrible, I need that level 61 pet. I try bazaar and auction channel constantly but no luck, is spell researching easy to level considering I have not been gathering mats?

An alternative to making your own spells would be to do a bazaar search for higher level mage spells that are primarily research spells. There's a good chance if somebody has a bunch of level 71-80 mage spells they are a researcher. If you find a researcher ask them if they'd make spells for you if you gathered the components; more often than not somebody will do it either for a fee and rarely for free.

If you're planning on doing research just for yourself you'll probably get frustrated and give up. If you want to do research because you enjoy that thing then go for it.

Another thing about asking others do make spells for you. If you get all the vendor bought components and expect them to get the dropped/crafted components don't expect the researcher to go out of their way to help you again later; sometimes tradeskillers get annoyed when this happens. For Ward of Xegony (61 air pet) you'll need either parchment or used parchment. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/reci ... ecipe=7283
