That is pretty insane, you just plug right into the server? I thought mine hanging at 90 to 100 was good.

LoL, wish I had zero ms. I have around 80 m/b internet (not fiber......), so not sure if that is why, or my location.

Yes he does. He must be that guy Eli bitches about hanging around in the server room when he goes there for maintenance. Eli says he has a thing for big macs with peanut butter O.O

Was at about 58 ms at my last apartment using At&t Uverse. ( max download speed was about 800kb )

Now 41ms using Cox Cable internet service ( max download speed 2-3mb )

These are not the advterised speeds, but the actual download speeds I've observed.

Price is the same for both services in Irvine, CA. just fyi.

I wonder if my ping would be lower if I wasnt using a wireless router, dunno, will have to try it sometime.

Surely your ping would be lower if you weren't wireless imho...

I run in the high 90s but still experience some lag (probably because of two EQ instances, Skype and Gamparse all running simultaneously). My area offers lightning speed cable modem or some such for I think an extra $25 a month. Is it worth it?

I've never even broken 100k on a parse so I must be doing something horribly wrong.

I've never broken 100K either, but I'm cool with that. My guild is low dps so all our fights are over 5 mins long. I did sustain slightly better than 70K dps for 10 mins though; my best for such a long fight.

I lag quite a bit sometimes. Happens when you have a 9 year old computer. I'll be building a newer one later this year. :D

The computer is surely bogging you down Sil... probably more than the connection.

I just replaced my broken computer, ( 2/yo son flipped the power switch for the hundredth time )
bought this rig on craigslist for 120$, someone elses old gaming rig,
it's an e7400, 2.8ghz core2duo w/512mb graphics card ( gforce 9600 gt ) 4gb ram

I saw many similar deals, including some e8200's
Buying used is definately the way to go. My previous computer was also bought used ( 100 $ w/ monitor )
& had similar specs to this one. They both run EQ seemlessly.

What are you running now? DSL?

It was worth it for me, b/c if my stepdaughter or wife jumps on netflix that would destroy my ping and cause lag when I was using Uverse ( DSL ) ... Now there's enough bandwidth for all.
