NDA lifted

Post by nylrem »

Kiara posted tonight in beta forums announcements the NDA is now lifted

Can't figure out how to create new threads under House of Thule, but probably want to create one for Spells and AA :)

The only thing you need to say is we got the shaft lol

Seriously, we got some nice new stuff so it would be nice if the threads got unlocked.

As for the AA...

I'm going to refrain from posting too many comments, but I will say, there was a HUGE amount of requests for spell and AA improvements by all magicians in Beta, many were and still are fighting the tough fight, but since the designs have locked now, it looks like this at least is what we are initially going to get.

Archetype:

Companion's Blessing: Ranks 10-12

Companion's Durability: Ranks 10-12

Destructive Fury: Ranks 16-18

Expansive Mind: Ranks 26-30

Fortify Companion: Ranks 7-9

Fury of Magic: Ranks 16-18

Hastened Forceful Rejuvenation: Ranks 4-6

Intrinsic Efficiency: 3 ranks, new AA which decreases the chance to use a reagent when casting spells.

Mental Clarity: Ranks 24-28

Persistant Casting: Ranks 10-12

Silent Casting: Rank 6

Summon Companion: Ranks 2-4
(Currently, only summons pet when not in combat, however, when in combat, will drop almost? all agro from pet)
I personally haven't figured out how to use as a pulling tool, but is nice to give agro to RS pets quickly
10 second recast

Class:

Aegis of Kildrukaun(90 req) - AA version of our hit-blocking pet buff, 7 hit blocker, 30 sec recast.

Arcane Whisper: Rank 4

Companion's Agility: Ranks 7-9

Diminuative Companion(85 req) - Pet shrink AA.
(shrinks pets to about 90pct of what max shrink is in single cast, like .5 sec cast, 12 sec recast)

Elemental Alacrity: Ranks 21-25

Elemental Fury: Ranks 21-25

Elemental Spell Fury: was supposed to allow pet to spell crit, doesn't work, code won't allow pets to crit
don't buy this AA if it goes live, however, see FBO

Extended Malosinete: Increases the duration of malosinete by 2 ticks per rank, 5 ranks.

Fire Core: Rank 5

Force of the Elements(90 req): Rank 4
(2836 base, 8508 crit)

Frenzied Burnout: Rank 5
(also now affects fire pets, approx 25% chance to crit)

Hastened Malosinete: Reduced the reuse on Malosinete by 3 seconds per rank, 3 ranks.

Ice Core: Rank 5

Improved Twincast(90 req): Activated AA twincast with a long duration (2 minutes), but is limited to 10 casts.
(RS pet was eating these procs, should be fixed though)

Small(86 req)/Medium(88 req)/Large Modulation Shard(90 req): small radius AE AA modrod that does 7,500/15,000/23,000 damage and recovers 2,500/5,000/7,500 mana. Must be cast out of combat, gives a 3 charge rod on same timers as all the rest of ours, 8 second cast time, 5 sec recast time, 5 min recast on the click(shared timer).

Malosinete: rank 2

Quick damage: Rank 4

Servant of Ro: Ranks 16-18

Stone Core: Rank 5

Vapor Core: Rank 5

Also got several more ranks of what you would expect in the general category, 10 ranks of increasing each stat by 5, more CA/CS/delay death, general sturdiness, and 2 ranks to increase extended target by 1.

I'm pretty sure about everyone has looked at the spells on Lucy, so just going to comment on the few that aren't standard upgrades.

Gather potential - 7.5k mana, 7 min recast, combined with rods, very nice mana regen indeed

Spear of Magma Rk. II - 3.5 sec cast, 13520 base damage, 2695m, twincastable including our AA twincast(30 min recast on that AA)

Mass rods spell pretty much outdated with AA modrods now, share click timers

Rain/Beam of daggers - magic based AE, still pretty limited(none?) use, many truly did ask for single target nukes that could be weaved on fire resistant mobs, no luck

Grant ring of levitation - Aristo refused to change this to the invis stone despite many requests

Chaotic Blessing - extends to almost 12 min now, and seems to proc a bit more, just my opinion though

Tellurian Stance - beefed it up a good bit, still not near scaled like it was in SoF

Splash of Lava - no sense that I can find in this spell, is a free target small AE (30)

Strike of Sand seems to attempt to fill the wiz mid damage nuke line, better ratio, medium cast time... seems limited use

Promised Wardmending scales a bit better, still not quite where most think it should be

Grant gift of daybreak - many requests were asked to change this... didn't happen; summons 2 stacks water, 2 stacks of food, a stack of bandages, and an invis stone in it (the grant bag spells actually summon a clicky item which opens up to a bag with the items in it, so they are stackable on a toon's cursor, this does allow for multiple inivis stones to be summoned to a single toon even though lore, but still quite inconvenient)

Grant spectral armaments - Absolutely love the new graphics for pet weaps, bout time :) Also added is 2 new ones with jolting strikes, decrease agro proc

For the group mage, we are still going to be quite good...

For the raiding mage, the spear replaces fickle essentially in the weave(will now be RS, spear, jolt, bolt), and as such, is actually a pretty limited DPS increase compared to other DPS classes. Many suggestions were attempted to assist our comparatively low dps, but almost none were entertained unfortunately.

T7 in UF for first tier HoT, but IMO some of the named in first tier HoT were slightly less difficult than t7 named in UF, the named there drop attuneable gear at just over the 900h/m/e range.

OH MAN! just remembered, for me, what one of the best things about the whole expansion is...

WE GET TO CHOOSE WHICH SPELLS WE GET FOR EACH DREAM FRAGMENT(RUNE) WE TURN IN!

And... they are quite plentiful, I molod 4 dream fragments (various levels) in a tier 1 zone in about 5 hours.

No more waiting for months killing idiotic LB mobs to get Bolt!

The raid runes working the same way, you pick what RK 3 spell you want

Oh, and the faction vendors aren't stupid ridiculous either... combination of 5 missions or 10 solo tasks approx to gain enough faction for spells, about twice that for gear/slot 3 augs.

Group pet focii will still be on earrings from specific named. Raid focii are on earrings added to a special loot table along with a bunch of other "rare" items. This special loot table will only have a 25% chance to even be used on each event, divided up by tiers. Not much of an improvement. Just another crap fix in the long line of failures this beta.

What about pet spells (air, water, fire, earth)? Buyable with plat from vendors (as in recent expansions), dropped by mobs, or only available from faction vendors?

You can buy them. They aren't as spectacular as we had hoped though, which is probably being said in the pet thread now. It wasn't for a lack of effort on our part, though. And they kicked us in the nuts with the EM focii.
