Mage spell question - Agnarr

Hi folks. First thank you for having a TLP section. This is such a great resource. I've never really played a mage pre-luclin/PoP era so it's been a blast on Agnarr thus far.

That said, I have a question regarding some of our spells. A while ago, someone asked me to summon a "dispell" rod/stick for them (not a mod rod). For the life of me I had no idea what they were talking about. I looked and can't seem to locate any "dispell" summoned items sans my annul magic spell. I think I have all my summon spells through level 60.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Hello Sabine, glad our initiative has been useful for you ! Thank you for your comment.

To answer your question, yes, there is a "dispell staff" summonable by mages. It's called "Staff of Runes" (link http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=490) and has 1 charge of Cancel Magic, insta right click, and the staff is tradable.

It is useful for some situations where a non caster needs to dispell his first buff slot which has been filled by a bad debuff or dot, as long it's a dispellable one and not a curable one (which would require a cure spell removing counters). Best example you'll face soon on Agnarr : Plane of Growth raids, some named tree aoe casts the strong druid magic based dot. Hand out staves to non casters, advise them to keep first buff slot empty, dot goes into first slot, tell them to target themselves and right click (hotkey advised) the staff to get a chance to dispell the dot.

Feel free to post more if you need infos on other topics of course :-)

I forgot to add Summon: Staff of Runes is a classic spell, you should find it easily. Iirc Adon bought it at library in Erudin, there was a specific NPC there who sold the weapon summons spells from Classic.
