New CL or non-CL mage rep?
Re: New CL or non-CL mage rep?
I was talking to Rasper (yeah I am lucky enought to have the Helpdesk in my guild), he told me they (the CLs) have been trying to get new ones for almost a year, and it has fallen of deaf ears. Thought you might like to know from an inside source.
Re: New CL or non-CL mage rep?
Irrelevant. We can still boost someone up that we are behind to pester the devs with data, requests, info, etc. until they listen. Tuli is of no use to us and the other CL's don't know enough about our class to be more than just a messenger service for us. In fact, you could say the same about Tulisin.
I still say we push for a CL and someone non-official to work along side them and be a bug in the devs' ears.
We need to be pushy if we want to fix our class. We need people there at the top to help us make the devs listen.

LOL And I'm wondering now if you are being conservative, thenFailcon wrote:I agree, just saying we working up hill.

Re: New CL or non-CL mage rep?
doesnt matter i for one saw in beta tulisian (our cl) dont think we have another say stuff on boerds etc and was completly ignored. we also had the longest thread of all other classes in aa's and spells and mage pets etc. we told them about bugs fixes need to happens etc they fell on deaf ears besides like 3-5 things.
Re: New CL or non-CL mage rep?
I don't think the boards are the best place to address the issues. There is too much information overload there and they do not have time to read 20+ page threads for all 12+ classes.benhan wrote:doesnt matter i for one saw in beta tulisian (our cl) dont think we have another say stuff on boerds etc and was completly ignored. we also had the longest thread of all other classes in aa's and spells and mage pets etc. we told them about bugs fixes need to happens etc they fell on deaf ears besides like 3-5 things.
We do need someone who can directly speak with a Dev, through IM chat or via email (email that is welcomed and actually read/responded to). It used to be easy for me to get a response from a Dev years ago, but alas everyone I knew that was around then (Valtron, Zajeer, Maddoc, Prathun, Lyndro, Nodyin, etc) are no longer on EQ1, besides Absor...
Re: New CL or non-CL mage rep?
Game got screwed when Nodyin took better pay to work on DCUO. There's no communication. I won't go into all of the details with what happened between the Devs and myself (short story: Dev lies to CS, game goes to smurf, because they still need me to fix busted raids), but having a CL that's active won't matter much. There's plenty of CLs (Ormus, Hulking) that are active... and don't do jack or skippy for their class. In fact, most of them are actively detrimental to their class as a whole, and I've been saying that since I was in the program (and directly tried to save a few of them from looking like idiots... which didn't work).Jedis wrote:I don't think the boards are the best place to address the issues. And talking to them doesn't work, when no one is listening. Trust me on this. Falling out started with Brath. I spent 2 weeks trying to get fixes to that fight. Had to spell-block something (to get around a busted mechanic) because they weren't in the mood to even respond. Got a response in less than 24 hours. Funny how that one worked.
Re: New CL or non-CL mage rep?
I fail to see how you could be a usefull CL failcon?
You disagree with alot of the community, and more importantly, dont try to see their side of the issue.
Never see you in mage channel, possible different play times of course?
You dont attempt parsing.

Re: New CL or non-CL mage rep?
You are right, I disagree with alot of the community right now. I feel that as a group we have allowed mob rule to effect how everyone is approaching the areas we are having issues. We are also caught in a "poor me" attitude. Unlike other people I am willing to voice decent and try to focus energy into more useful directions. I know that sounds callous but the EQ community has low opinion of mages because of all the complaining (it does not matter how justified). The Devs do not like our class because it is a nightmare for them. There is constant fighting over our class being too powerful, then raiders calling for more power, even though they are the ones being pointed out for having too much power.
I love my class. I love being a raider. I love going out and soloing named mobs. I also come from a family guild, though now I am in a raid one, so I know what it was like going up through the ranks as a poorly geared toon, fighting for groups in reinforced guk and such. I say this to show I known both sides of our class. I Am not a jaded raider who doesn't care about how we effect the group level players, I see there needs to be improvements in both areas, and that to get closer to where we could forseeably go. We have to make concessions that we might not all agree with but both side can accept so we can grow as a class as a whole.
I know this is not a popular stand, but we need to come together. We have been our worst enemy for far to long. We are a strong willed class ( look at how we have progressed, even in those lean years), and if we can focus our energy to get the Devs to listen. I also tend to argue the counterpoint for an argument, just to see the views and points we have.
I only think I can help because I feel I have a level head and open mind to not only our desires, but also a view how we blend with others. I do not hold any grievance with those who disagree and even respect those who are willing to argue with me with a level headed view.
I have not posted parses for a few reasons. I am in a raid guild and feel obligated to have leveled and work on some progression with my guildies. I am also on the road right now, moving from Texas to Pennsilvania. I really wish I had more time, but I have other responsibilities right now pressing me. You are right, I am not a member of the Mage cross-server channel. The general channels on my server jaded me from using those, so if someone will post it for me, I will join it.

Re: New CL or non-CL mage rep?
Ok, before I create the poll is there anyone else who actually accepts their nomination? Right now I have Voragath and Failcon as the only ones who actually seem to be willing to take the job, so if I were to create the poll as things currently stand it would be just those two. I'll give everyone one more day to respond and then the poll goes up.
