Underfoot Info From Fan Faire
Underfoot Info From Fan Faire
- They are adding a new mini game to EQ. The game uses the monster mission system but it is not a monster mission. The game is kind of like a FPS. There are 3 groups of gnolls that can be played: red, blue, and orange. You will have 2 boomerangs to throw at other players, one for each of the apposing teams. The game can be played in pvp or pve mode. You are awarded alternate currency based on your kill ranking for the game. The top three people will get another alternate currency that can be used to buy "good" items. They did not say what the rewards would be.
- There is no level cap increase for this expansion.
- The gear is targeted at level 85 toons.
- The group and raid gear will have a similar difference as in SOD and SOF.
- They are adding 13 new zones, and the zones are very big.
- They are adding a window that will let you target several targets at once. For example, a clr can put each of the tanks in this target window and use it to monitor their health. They do not have this window implemented yet, so the details are not set yet.
- They will be adding new crafted armor.
- They are adding 140 new weapon graphics.
- The release date is in November.
- They may add the 36 man hard mode raids in Underfoot if they are well received for SoD raids.
- They are adding a quest progression interface to help you track where you are in progression or other quest series. This will initially work for Underfoot only, but they plan to implement it for previous expansions. They said the oldest expansion they would be able to add to the new progression window is pop, but they may or may not go back that far.
- The mobs in the new zones currently have 257915 hp and mana.
- There will be 2 to 3 new spells per class. They are trying to add new spell concepts with the new spells.
- All raids are in instances.
- There will be an npc that holds quest items like in SoD.
- Raid access will be done similar to SOD raids.
- They will add more buff slots
- They will add more spell slots, 1 or 2.
- 1 or 2 zones will have flag requirements.
- Spells up to TBS will be researchable.
- They are looking at adding an off-line trader mode for the bazaar. It is not a guaranteed feature but they are seriously looking at implementing it.
- Visible armor will not be fractured like in SOD.
- There will be 3 different levels of difficulty for raids. All the raids are supposed to be harder than SOD raids.
- They are trying to add other merc classes with the new expansion, but this may or may not be ready in November.
Over all I think there are some nice features in this expansion.

Re: Underfoot Info From Fan Faire
Very nice I love the features the MM mini-game is an O.K concept, I was the small minority that loved MM's i think they were interesting and fun, and always hoped that they would add more or increase the gear for each one. The mini- game idea is sorta iffy with me not something EQ has done before
Re: Underfoot Info From Fan Faire
I have some questions so if anyone can clarify, cool, if not, then oh well.
This is surprising since there is no level increase. It will be a big upgrade then....- The group and raid gear will have a similar difference as in SOD and SOF.
Do we know what level ranges?- They are adding 13 new zones, and the zones are very big.
Thank god.... I can't wait to see how they do this, might be complicated....- They are adding a window that will let you target several targets at once. For example, a clr can put each of the tanks in this target window and use it to monitor their health. They do not have this window implemented yet, so the details are not set yet.
Very glad to see this, it's about time! They should have done this 7 years ago :p- They are adding a quest progression interface to help you track where you are in progression or other quest series. This will initially work for Underfoot only, but they plan to implement it for previous expansions. They said the oldest expansion they would be able to add to the new progression window is pop, but they may or may not go back that far.
Heh.... funny stuff.- The mobs in the new zones currently have 257915 hp and mana.
I was wondering when this would happen. I was never fond of how they would break up the raids with a few that are non-instanced.- All raids are in instances.
Via AA or is it automatic?- They will add more buff slots
We already have 10 slots, I wonder how they will do this.- They will add more spell slots, 1 or 2.
Gots to make something for raiders to do in group content, heh.- 1 or 2 zones will have flag requirements.
yay, this should have been done when SOD came out.- Spells up to TBS will be researchable.
Anyone know if this will actually happen?- They are looking at adding an off-line trader mode for the bazaar. It is not a guaranteed feature but they are seriously looking at implementing it.
This sucks for mid-tiered guilds. Not that I'm in one, but it's nice to throw them a bone with a few raids in the next expansion to be a little easier than the last expansion's end game zone.....- There will be 3 different levels of difficulty for raids. All the raids are supposed to be harder than SOD raids.
I was under the impression that this was axed?- They are trying to add other merc classes with the new expansion, but this may or may not be ready in November.

Just thought I would point out back in SoF, when soloing actually took skill that is, those drakes in Crystallos Had b/t 220k and 251k HP iirc from my parses. Idk if it was meant 2 be funny or not, but that really isn't tons of hp anymore.Heh.... funny stuff.
Just my 2cp

Re: Underfoot Info From Fan Faire
I don't think the funny part is the amount of hps so much as the precise number they gave us instead of a rough estimate (like say 250k or so instead of 257915)Piemastaj wrote:- The mobs in the new zones currently have 257915 hp and mana.Just thought I would point out back in SoF, when soloing actually took skill that is, those drakes in Crystallos Had b/t 220k and 251k HP iirc from my parses. Re: Underfoot Info From Fan Faire
The window sounds very nice - being able to put group members in there and/or putting current Main Tank target and any second and 3rd targets in there would be fantastic.
Re: Underfoot Info From Fan Faire
I would really like to know the mechanics of it though, heh.Jaytee wrote:The window sounds very nice - being able to put group members in there and/or putting current Main Tank target and any second and 3rd targets in there would be fantastic.
Re: Underfoot Info From Fan Faire
The Beta sign-up screen shows the beta period ending on 12/1, so I rather doubt we are having a November release (unless it's November 30th).
Re: Underfoot Info From Fan Faire
Event 1 was/is Giants, Giants,Giants.early access will be 12-8-09
normal live release is 12-15-09
early access is avilable only if you have all previous expansions. and did all 3 of the road to underfoot events and account is active.
Event 2 was/is Ancient Heroes. Any of old man mckenzie monster mission(raid or group) or a hot zone task from Franklin Teek.
Event 3 is breaking the seal. You can do either the kill 40 task, or poison task to get the "Claim" needed (it gives you a silent claim).
