What do you know now....
What do you know now that you wish you knew a while back that would have made life much easier?

Cloth diapers really are more trouble than they are worth.
Houses that "need just a little bit of work" really means there is NEVER EVER an end to projects that need doing.

You can buff other peoples mercs without getting aggro like you used to be able to do with pets.
Re: What do you know now....
can you heal them without getting agro too?
Re: What do you know now....
I assume so, I only play mages so cant test it out. I came across a group massing killing a camp with a tank merc so thought I'd help my casting DS and pyroshroud. Turned out they werent mass killing, but had infact trained themseleves.
I thought I was done for because of the buffs, but then realized I had no aggro.

Re: What do you know now....
My cleric box was retired when mercs came to be, but i can say HOTs don't generate aggro. Used to hit the FDed puller with a HOT and never got aggroed. A straight heal or promised heal would though.
Re: What do you know now....
Healing mercs generates aggro just like healing a regular player does. I'm very accustomed to pulling loads of mobs, stacking them on my pet, and then assisting my pet and burning through them while the cleric keeps the pet up. I grouped with a druid who had a tank merc the other day, pulled several as usual, and then after the first heal on the tank merc watched most of the mobs run to my cleric merc.

Lol, its not that HOT's dont generate agro, its that the player you healed was FD.Daiou wrote:My cleric box was retired when mercs came to be, but i can say HOTs don't generate aggro. Used to hit the FDed puller with a HOT and never got aggroed. A straight heal or promised heal would though.

I dont think thats the situation pandax was asking about.Merlaina wrote:Healing mercs generates aggro just like healing a regular player does. In my case, I buffed a Tank merc, who had aggro on several mobs with a DS and pyroshroud. The tank Merc was outside my group and I got no aggro.
I think pandax was asking if you can heal a Merc, who has aggro (outside your group?) and not get aggro.
Re: What do you know now....
Ah, not sure about that, though before I left on my long break (right before prophecy of ro) I know that some buffs would just give me the 30 second countdown if I buffed someone in combat, and not actually give me the swords icon. However multiple buffs would give me the swords. Not sure if this was a bug that has since been corrected, if it affects all buffs, etc. And this was on a player, not a merc.
