Wow, its crazy how spammy spammers get when theres no one to run interference. Its pretty horrible atm with Danille "taking a few days off ".

Hopefully admins can things get sorted out.

As a board mod there are only a few tools I have access to. Most of the functionality you speak of cannot be accessed by anyone other than an administrator, if it exsits at all.

Hell even if we could just click on a user name and have a selection that lets you "ban user, ip address, and delete all posts" in one shot, it would be a much quicker process.

Presently I have to 1) ban each user; 2) ban each ip address and 3) delete every single post ALL one at a time. It's insane!

I have been looking at new members instead and banning them before they make a single post, because most of the bots are too stupid to not fill in some fields like http://www.address" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They usually are filled in with things like http://www.iwantmoreporn.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Kind of a dead giveaway.

Well, then, do we just need more mods? At the moment I see two: danille and piemastaj. Then there is the owner, eqmagetower. If you need more mods, I'm sure some would offer up their time. I know I would. lol

and I am on gmt, so covers time others may not - but that said, I know what Dani means and it is Eqmagetower needs to set things a bit different and be more active or hand over to Danille even, else sadly these boards will go the way of the old EQsummoners.


Just as a by the by did Eqmagetower ever say who they were, they refused at the outset, but I think is time, as info builds up here, that we should know... else we are all wasting our time sharing information that will poof in a random moment

Is there a way where each submission to sign up for the boards must include your toon name/class/server ? Would that slow them down a little or maybe a Digg-like thumbs up or thumbs down button where posts were buried by the community?

True - but if the question was "Who is or was your character?" then we'd be ok. I'd be pretty certain that most folks that come here played at one time

Though, honestly, I think something as simple as a captcha or anything where you have to actually type a word in, any question, would work fine..just anything to stop the bots..The biggest problem is getting in touch with the admin so that he/she can implement something.
