That would be fine, it's just that water pets are doubling the fire pet's dps when fully buffed... and when burning like 3-4X easily. Air pet is out-dpsing fire if you buff it. I would like to see fire be a viable option, and I think doing at least fully buffed air pet dps would be reasonable

I actually do like the idea of fire pet coming out of the box doing full dps and ready, problem is the current dps it gives out is much too low and there is no way to buff it to be competative. If they would increase it to be hands down the best unbuffed dps that would make sense to me and be ideal, but when normally buffed (burnout/iceflame/unity) only water should beat it.. during burn of course air might still be able to take it out. At least that is my opinion on the matter. I still use fire sometimes but it's just cause i'm worried about enrage on trash(brath) or there are AEs that are killing my pet(guardians) but i'd like it to be an option more often.

Unless there is a pet swap AA, having to use different pets on each event is just going to be a pita. Conceptually it sounds nice, but are you really going to want to be tossing a pet, summoning a new one, getting people to buff it and so on, and then after the fight doing it all over again? I don't, and I doubt after doing it a few times none of you would either. Sure, make fire do a little more damage out of the box for when we die or whatever, but raid event in and event out our goto pet oughta remain the water pet.

Myself, I would much rather have the fire pet be our mainstay for raids and dps for groups with tanks, to better keep it out of AE spell range, and rampage/enrage distance. This would require several adjustments though.

1. Make burnout give like 50% chance to crit, 6% chance to twincast spells, and BP clicky buffs similar, and aura some kind of increased DD damage effect in addition to what they already do.

2. Give the fire pet a greater spell shielding and dot shielding than other pets.

3. Make Aegis work for all spells

Myself I would rather they not switch gears on the bread and butter pet - water pets have had years of experience poured into them. Switch to fire pet and its liable to be a disaster, and I don't want to live for months on end with a busted situation. It would be far preferable to fix the pets so they can withstand AE's, and educate the tanks to keep the mob facing the right direction so you don't have to worry about the other effects.

maybe if they just upped fire pet damage a little - via focu, and them made them very resistant to AEs it could be a very raid friendly pet. It won't equal water pets, but its a very safe pet to use, not dependent on positioning, adds, rampage or such. A few small tweaks could give the pet some purpose.
And lets face it, all four pets will never be equally useful. So instead lets try to make a niche for each one.
