Agree, any chance for folks to simply log in to their banking account and check recent activity, that can't be a bad thing.

In regards to logging into EQ and finding 2 expansions missing etc, I had this same thing happen a few months back for NO REASON at all. I logged off, logged back on, all was good. Not sure how that relates.

So the group Anonymous declares Jihad on Sony... great, good job. I realize you want to deal a blow to them but it naturally affects all the people that have NOTHING to do with this, more specifically the consumer... us.

Relax there killer. If you read your smurf you came off like that. To me anyway. But guess what this whats going on here, this is about what is going on with our game. If you search , like i just did NO WHERE did anyone say anything about there attempted CC usage. If you have found something like like please link it. Hearing from a friend "oh man there were 200000 hits on my CC last night" really? People love to spread the fire when smurf like this happens. Again I would love to see someone somewhere saying that they had attempted CC hits. And no that wasnt a quote before you go flipping out over that to.

I hate the little smurf basement living assholes that are doing this. I hope they get executed over this, yes that wont happen but it should. I have a vendetta against a company that went after my hero for hacking into their system. I'll show them, you watch Geo Ill make you love me.

Regardless if people exaggerate the amount of attempted purchases, if this still got done then people needed to be warned since SOE is not doing so.

But thats what I am saying who says it got done. A friend tells me hey I got hacked into but NO ONE no where is saying anything like that? It sounds like I want attention look at me, it happened to me believe me please. Thats all I am saying. If there is proof its happening then PLEASE link it so everyone can see. telling me what someone on a game told you holds zero water with me anyway. Like I said people love to fan a fire on stuff like this. I not saying it didnt happen, but really if it did then someone somewhere or thousands of people would have posted something about it by now.

I highly doubt people want to go around posting their statements about their cards being used by people. If anything people fanning the fire is good on issues like this, no1 likes to lose $. SOE even said it was an intrusion on their system which means they could of very well got access to people's credit card stuff and other data. Not to mention some people work until 5 or 6 at night, and if people dont regularly check their cards and such they might go unnoticed which is why you don't see people posting.

"I've getting reports from ppl that right as this went down their CC's had a major rash of attempted purchases. Might want to check your CC's FAST."

Thats pretty much what I said... check your CC's. Rash of *attempted* purchases. Never said how much. As for links I've seen several reports on elitegamers (down atm or I would link) and had a few PM's about the same. I don't know how common it was or not. Given the timing... it would be stupid to assume they aren't connected.

BTW: Some of these people I have known for years, if they said it happened I believe them.

Who knows what is really going on. I think everyone should keep an eye on their account. Sony did say the security codes did not get touched by the way. So IF people smurf did go out and they have it, it will make it more difficult to use anyway. I honestly dont think this was in anyway a thing to steal peoples info. I think this was done to mess with Sony. Most hackers hate companies not people. They hate Sony for going after their hero hence taking out revenge on them. I dont think this is some 2bit asswipe trying to get rich. There was a vendetta to show the world. In the mean time Ill keep looking for anything about attempted useage and see if its happening. Lets all hope for the sake of the millions of people that its not.

It is also an assumption that any charge oddities on anyone's cards are realted to SOE's systems going down. They may be, they may not be. No harm in checking your accounts - everyone should be checking theirs regularly regardless in this day and age - but anything beyond that is conjecture. Absence of hard news creates a vacumn and nature abhors a vacumn, so all sorts of conjecture gets generated...but we have no facts at all right now beyond them being concerned. All media outlets clamoring for a scoop to beat the others and all we got is retreads of SOE's statement and rehashing of all the PSN stuff. So we don't know about what they are concerned about - we don't know if someone got in or not, and I can think of dozens of scenarios where they saw a potential issue before a breech occurred and did this as preventive, just as I can think of dozens where a breech occurred and was anything from poking around to full blown data theft down to the last bit. Hell, we don't even know if the action taken was prudent, a knee jerk, too late to matter, etc... All we know is they were concerned.
