If everyone else got a 20% boost and you got a 10% boost, how is that not a nerf?

Because a nerf is giving you something and then taking it away. In this case we never got it in the first place. At best, I suppose you could argue we were nerfed in some manner based on how strong we were at point X in time and if you extrapolate now to point Y in HoT we aren't as strong, but any time extrapolation is used its going to fall on the dev's deaf ears. Hard data (i.e. parses) are what will change their mind, and even with those it can be an uphill war.

My 86 pet was max hitting for 581, not counting crits. Old 81 air was max hit 466 with the same focus, so that's a decent improvement.

Which focus do you have because that's a heck of a lot more than the EM4 pet is hitting for!

Max hit isn't really all that important, it was just the first thing I noticed when I used the new pet last night. It certainly tanks better than the 81 pet. Hopefully we can get a statistics table for the new pets, like we did for the SoD pets. In the meantime we can always nuke the pet with symbiosis and extrapolate it's total HP based on the amount of damage done and how much it lowered the pet's HP. Of course, it will be different for different mages, even with the same focus, depending on how many pet "durability" AAs each particular mage has....../sigh

Sounds like EM 4 is not working with the pet or they've really upped scaling on the high EMs but made it crap on the low EMs. 470 is barely above the 81 pet max hit, whereas 581 is way above what the 81 pet max hit.

Can anyone verify?

Yes, feel free to double check me. 581 is what I wrote down last night, but I might have made a mistake. That was with EM7, burnout 8, and the aura going.

Did not summon gear as pets are spose to come geared now

Yeah I agree, I thought for sure it would hit for more than 470 (non crit of course). I am positive 470 was the normal non-crit max hit with mammoth 3.

I verified it in beta on Monday. There's a few things that could cause it to look wrong: aa's, mob dmg mitigation, etc...

Okay, in that case I think Goranthos just mistook a crit for a real hit, and the pets are essentially unchanged from late Beta.

So, the pet DPS is a minor upgrade, at best.
