Just cause the dmg mods are the same remember that the str bonus also modifies dmg. Also notice haste stays the same, some mods are not increased. The Devs have stated that some lines of spells and AAs have reached the limits they wanted (CA/CS being stated specifically), and that certain mods have topped out. Not saying that this is our issue, but be ready for that chance.

Crystilla wrote:Sorry about that. I didn't realize folks were comparing rank 2's to anything (just reread it). Every other comparison done on the EQLive forums for mages and other classes were rank 1 of new to rank 3 of old. That said, there still were issues and Aristo has this now.
The elitegamers forum has a spell parser that works good and so that's what I used to read the spells/AA/type 3 file and get the data read. You can get the parser itself from that new website and use it, or I can send the .txt output file (it's 7 megs unzipped) with what's currently on live servers.
Ah, well, if it's the one on elitgamers I'll grab it there then and save you the hassle =) Thanks!

Rank 1 rarely better than old rank 3.

Still waiting on lucy data, but I think it is fine now. Rank 1 is equivalent to previous rank 3 for the most part, with Rank 2 an upgrade. That is how it has been traditionally, which is ok .

The info I posted 2 posts up is from the post patch spell_us file parsed out. (Just in case you weren't sure where that came from, so that confirms what you just said.)

Thanks Crystilla for all the help. It seems the mage class correspondent is once again missing in action and not saying a word to help the class or communicate to us at all.

Well, not that I'm trying to back any CL's that are mages - but one CL wouldn't know what I was working on with a Dev (we're pretty segregated at times, am independent bodies, etc.), so since I was the one working on this particular issue across various classes, I wanted to post what the outcome was. Just because it's in the patch notes, doesn't mean every request made for that spell got done as shown here.
- I'd never expect someone else to "check" my work, so this was just follow through on my part.
