The discussion about our pet irrational emotivity reminds me the only time where I was jumping in joy before my screen many years ago as they modified pets mitigation and tanking capacities, aka "The Great Pet Patch", when was that ? Someone remembers ?
I recall this being one of the most intense moments of mage-happiness reading a SoE patch message, LOL
The AE taunt ( for earth ) mentioned by fallcon is something also on my wish list.
The air pet actually generates more aggro because of the stun, which makes little sense... i give earth rage swords, but still... doesnt make a lot of sense.
Air pet generates more aggro because it does more dmg, and regardless if the stun will land on the mob or not the hate generated by the stun still hits for the full hate amount. Which is why pallies have really good aggro even though their stuns can not hit higher then lvl 90 mobs.
I have been saying for awhile now, we need a Rune type pet weapon. Rune type procs generate AE aggro which would solve that issue. If we give Earth pet an AE aggro spell and say get rid of the root then on some raids where people use Earth pet to tank (I know Savil has tanked a raid boss before) the AE aggro cast would get it beat down.

If you TS farm or in an interesting area with wanderers AOE aggro would be helpful. Not to mention our current pet weapons dont really do anything, so mind aswell get something that would help in other areas than dmg.

I would not want an aoe aggro if your in current content and that aoe may get you more adds then you want. Aoe aggro is fine if your farming for trade skill items in a zone where multiple adds won't matter, but in current content where you don't want extra adds, no thanks.
The only way to make an aoe taunt viable is if it is on an AA key, you have the normal No Taunt button, the taunt button, and a new one. AOE Taunt button. Choose the one you want the pet to use.
Like I said, you put the AOE thing on a pet weapon. If you notice rune procs do not gain attention of unecessary mobs, they only gain the attention of mobs currently on your hatelist. And I would absolutely want this on my pet in current content because I frequently have adds and generally they beat my merc down.
As I also said, it was parsed during beta that pet weapons currently add like 32 DPS to our pet. That is something I would be willing to lose to have something more beneficial in our bag.
