Yes, the duration was increased from 3 to 5 ticks in base duration during beta - making it a valid target for extension effects. I pointed out that it would then have to be balanced around AA's (so they should have left it at 3 ticks with a higher effect). All the analysis was using the full extended duration, and it was still sucky. /sigh

The spells are just all crap.. I am sorry for Raramor, his work load must suck, but the spells are just useless in their current form. I really hope they look at Thaumatize and Distillect at least.. make the first with a 1 sec cast time so we can weave it with nukes, and a small haste component on Distilllect as discussed in beta. At the moment, they all just suck and are buggy to boot.

Since Thaumatize targets our pet, is there an easy way to make this part of our "multi-bind" casting, so it could be part of "the weave"?

there is no reason, from a player's perspect why your target has to change to target your pet for spells that are pet only. Very annoying.

While not switching to pet would definately be desirable, it would make it work differently from many other pet buffs (haste, symbiosis etc). What is annoying is that the spell takes a relatively long time to cast, while being designed to be used in combat .. any combat 'buff' should be very fast casting.. look at Promised Rejuvination as a good role model.

This is apart from the whole discussion about actual mana returned...

I highly doubt though anything will get tweaked or tuned at this point.. i can't remember the last time anything was actually changed post-launch..

Remember there is a "second UF" launch in April. I know the shadowknights on the evilgamer boards are getting pretty giddy about what they're going to get; who knows what's in store for us? Could be we'll get some decent spells and maybe even a few more nice aa's out of it.

eh? I thought the april launch was basically just going to be end game stuff...are you saying there will also be additional spells and aa's released?

I don't have any info about mages aa's or spells in the upcomming release but from reading Tearsin's post on the shadowknight boards I'm hopeful we'll get a bone thrown our way. You can read the thread here:

http://www.evilgamer.net/forums/showpos ... ostcount=3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
i can tell you this: there are no less than 3 new AAs coming, likely in april, that are tits-out smurf awesome, and things we've wanted for a long time.

eli and i have talked about april's AAs - not recently (just during UF beta) but even if they just went with the ones i already know about, it would be totally sweet.

(i'm not saying what they are because A. it was brought up specifically in the context of beta and the NDA still kinda sorta means something to me, and B. i have no assurances or l33t insider info that tells me which AAs are going in and i don't want to create an atmosphere of anticipation and disappointment if not everything is implemented)
Just in case you're not familiar with his vernacular, eli = Eldiroth

I may be reading too much into his post but something more than just more zones and mobs is coming soonish.

Additional AA's are coming. When is the question.
