I will /bug report it as well to see if that works.
I do however remember the range being complained about in BETA but cannot remember a DEV responding as to the reason for the short range or even why it has to be centered on the mage rather than our pet as in Rathes Strength.
The buff is nice, but somehow they had to tarnish the upgrade.
Sued...
Hey Sued =) Hope things are going well with you and the gang.
And you are right, this thing was brought up several times with nary a response from the drowning new Spell Developer. Some guy came into our General channel the other day picking a fight about it for some reason. He was there along with the daily 15 "Wow I just started EQ after 5 years it's so fun" crowd that's been popping up like mushrooms on every server. My conspiracy spider-sense tells me those re-starts are just a publicity stunt, judging by the fact I play on so many servers and see the same language, down to the wording in some cases. Sony knows the score. Blub blub blub. Gasp.
Anyway, back on topic, this Aura could be very nice if it were pet-centered. It is POWERFUL.
Give me that and some real mana regen (hello! dumb-dumb ! Necros don't need 2 trillion mana per tick when they are already pulling everyone's pants down in parses.)
And it would be even nicer without that stealth, retroactive nerf ala Rathe's Strength affecting only Group pets instead of all pets within it's sphere. I don't know if that was collateral damage from the addition of the new spell or deliberate. Either way, it is obviously a terrible move, and anyone with some seasoning and context would know that.
I'm convinced they have a skeletal staff, no seasoned project manager overseeing things, no written or systematic procedure for test, feedback, or beta, and employees are sweating, stressed, and under-the-deadline-gun to get things done and right now. There is no mentoring, oral-history, training, or learning curve. I am fairly certain that as a new guy you walk into your cubicle and some old guy walks in thinking "Thank God" and shows you how the directories work and gives you an assignment then ignores you so he can get his own stuff done.
In 11 years of play, each expansion has had something I have enjoyed. There has been length, width, depth, and time. A 4-dimensional hobby with all kinds of nooks and crannies to explore and detail down to incredible detail and minutiae in many cases.
This feels like a flat playing board with a bunch of granite boulders thrown randomly on it. On each boulder is a note written in crayon that says "chip down this boulder with a chisel for a few hours then move to the next one". It is a 2-dimensional pastiche of poorly conceived and implemented amateur gameplay.
That is progression in UF. And where are the quests? Send in the quests. There ought to be quests (making their entrance again with the usual flair.)
UF stinks. I hope they fix it.
Miss you btw. Say hey to Calebe. Give Xslia the finger. chuckle
