"starter" augs

Realized earlier tonight I have no augs on my mage.
Noticed the "soloable" augs list, but my mage isn't quite high enough to solo any of these 100 mana augs
So curious, anyone know of any augs that'd be a nice starter set? Looking at getting hand aug if I can force ymself through that again. Mage is 70 atm, but I'm stockpiling 80 gear in bank, so augs that are req. above that are okay (Though I doubt I can solo many of those)

Monk doing the farming is currently ~17k unbuffed, ~650 AAs. can probably take things that hit about 2k ish at most.
Know there are a few augs from DSK that were 75 ish mana, think I could take those?
basically, anything goes, as long as I'm not farming it for days. DoD missions, etc matter not to me, I'll farm them.

Thanks.

Check out the hotzone list http://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ:Hotzones

You can go through the current list and grab any augs you like, and any old hotzones that had an aug you want, will still randomly drop the aug even if it isn't a current hotzone anymore. Nothing super awesome, but a decent place to start.

Mud Puppy is a fairly common named earth elemental in Katta that drops a +60 HME aug. Should probably be soloable/moloable at 71. I know when I burn a lesson there for AA grinding I get a spawn about 50% of the time in my half an hour there, though that's with how fast I can clear at 81. Should still be good xp for you though.

remember there are a few "elaborate defiant" type augs you can get for next to nothing in baz that are better than an empty slot

There are some lower level decent augs to be had in Relic, both random rares and named drops, something in the line of 50-65 hp/mana plus a mod like shielding or avoidance

Pick up the easy augs you find along the way, however don't go out of your way to pick up others.

The bonus that they give you for your gear is minor compared to the rest of your gear nowadays.

When you're 85, go ahead and camp yourself a decent set. Either way though, they're just not going to help you out very much while you're constantly changing gear, etc.
