Since I'm starting some mages from scratch, I was curious if anyone had any good AA guides for mages? It's been since OOW since I've played my last mage so I was curious if there was any info.
If not, I'll start an AA guide myself in 3 or 4 months after I've banked 1500 or so and am 85

LOL the last guide I saw was from OOW. Most of it is based off what you want and if you are group or raid based. If your pet tanks alot, defensives are in order. If you have a tank, offensives are good first. Stuff like that. My pet tanked alot so I did defensives first, then my nukes, then my pet's offensvies, followed by heals and stuff. I'm sure there are others who would be more specific and help you build a guide

For me im level 81 right now with right at 700 AAs. First i got my pet defensives as far as i could for my level. After that i got his offensives up. Now working on Spell crit and crit damage. After that i think i am going to put in mana regen and pet heals.. Still have a few on defensives and offensives since not fully 85 but pet is doing decent for where i am..

It has been suggested that these days the mana regen AAs aren't really worth the points. With OOC regen and the large mana pools we can hit these days, a few extra innate regen isn't anywhere near as useful as most of the other AAs we have available to us.

Not if you primarily group but are still quite handy if you raid. Since they fixed the "combined" cap of 65, it is more useful to both. My combat regen is 105 which is pretty good. If you are chain pulling and on a mount, that's some sweet regen you could use; during a raid it adds up to some good dps. Now, I won't go so far to say as rush and grab it now but I wouldn't dismiss it. It was lowest on my "need" list.

I actually just put together a list of aa requirements for mage applicants for my guild. The aa's you should focus on very from what type of player you are and are going to be. If you raid or want to raid high end content. I would focus on Self DPS first (spell crits, spell dmg, support aa's to help spells land or do more dmg) followed by swarm pets dps (Rumbling servant lines) and then normal pet dps. This is going to optimize your Damge out put. If you are a group player then I would put focus on Normal pet DPS, Self DPS and lastly swarm pet DPS, as most often swarm pets are likely to be saved for nameds and harder hitting mobs this optimizes you and your normal pets dps. If you are going to be a solo mage then the choice is obvious Pet Defensive and healing above dps. Which ever direction you are taking should determine the aa's you buy first or focus heavy on while mixing in some other areas as you go along. Here is the list that I have made requirements for our applicants. We require 1k aa's and this list makes up about 700 total.
