Giving Epic to pet

Over the 5-6 years I have played my mage I have given my 2.5 Epic to my pet a 3-4 times now (I know, total noob). Not to make excuses, but I keep my epic in my top left bag slot and when I cast a new pet I place the bag of pet weapons in that slot with the intention of placing my Epic in another bag. Well, due to multi-tasking or too much Merlot I give Gober my Epic (and it looks a lot like the Air weapons).
In the past I have petitioned and GMs have returned it promptly (although I have to run to Demi-Plane to get the 2.5 aug each time). I've done it twice in the past few months and at this point I'm not even going to waste my time petitioning it again.
I've seen a few old posts that the epic pet clicky is bascially useless these days, I have not been able to notice a difference on parses. Does anyone have any quantifiable data if it is still useful?
Has anyone else ever done this or is it just me (I always wonder why pets can accept no trade items so personally I blame SoE)?

Yeah. It's worthless after 75. The stun component of the proc won't work on an NPC higher than 75.

Well, I wouldn't say useless.
Primal fusion strike still procs on any mob and believe it or not I've used it to emergency heal my pet before. Not as useful by any means on mobs > lvl 75, but not totally useless.

I believe it is also a 200 pt Direct Damage aswell. If your using it when soloing then your hurting yourself, because it conflicts with Iceflame so that it procs the epic instead of the 2 hit rune on your pet which will greatly lower your pets survivability during the fight. However, in groups a 200pt DD from a spell proc is not too bad. But Iceflame is the much better spell to be honest, at rank 2 the pet procs a 294pt Direct Damage and not to mention it procs prism skin which is the 2 hit rune i was talking about. The only spot where epic would be better would be then iceflame will be the 1k heal it gives which isn't smurf anymore lol. I would just leave your 2.5 with fluffy and be done with it.

For grouping or raiding the epic is still useful for the DD proc. If you're soloing or in a group with your pet tanking then don't bother for the prism skin reason listed above.

Personally, I wouldn't let it go. If nothing else, petition it and don't bother with the Demi Page. Then bank it if you don't want it to happen again. But I'd definitely get it back before it's too late.

It would suck if you needed it for Epic 3.0 and didn't have it... I'd go get it back and bank it so you don't repeat this error.

It's just you.
(I'd petition to get it back)

I just can't imagine tossing out your 2.5. I still summon my 1.0 once a day just to look at it because it took me so long to get.

I did that when I got my 1.5, just switching them back a forth. I still like the particle effect on the 1.0. There had been talks with Ngreth about potentially putting in ornaments to make weapons look like the old epics. I think the necro community objected.
