Patch Changes 1-13-11

For those who want the specifics for what changed with the spells in today's patch. The net gain is the amount of "free time" we earned as a result of the changes. The biggest change is how fast we can fire off our nukes. We can now effectively put spear into our weave. Most of us should be able to weave (in no particular order): spear, bolt, fickle, and clash. If you put in RS you'll lose one of the others. So, a TC weave would probably be the one I listed and a more efficient one would probably be something like: bolt, fickle, clash, and RS. So, the multibind has been fixed.
NB: These are raw data numbers and do not reflect aa's, spell haste, etc.

Bolt of Rhyolite
Old recast: 6.25
New recast: 6.0

Net gain: 0.25

Strike of Sand
Old cast: 3
New cast: 1.25

Old recast: 1.5
New recast: 2.4

Net gain of: 0.85s

Fickle Flare
Old cast: 3.25
New cast: 1.5

Old recast: 5.35
New recast: 5.30

net gain of : 1.8s

Ruinous Servant
Old cast: 3.0
New cast: 1.0

Old recast: 18.0
New recast: 19.0

Net gain: 1.0s

wouldnt the highest DPS weave without regard to mana or when the mob dies or anything be this?

That's why I said "probably." In my guild, we have pets galore thanks to Rangers. I get the full benefit of clash:

1: Decrease Hitpoints by 827

Heard something about not being able to hail a mission NPC from across the zone anymore for an update. Can anyone confirm this stealth nerf?

Just tested and the distance is 20 units. As to it being a bug or nerf, I'm not sure. It was mentioned on eqlive in the bugs board for this patch but no response to it as of the time I am writing this.

Just encountered this on the first mission I tried since the nerf. "The Stuff of Dreams" Died a few times cause at the place I have to hail the mobs spawn right on top of me. That place is so close to the npc it is basically dry humping him.

Only thing that really changed, at the raid level, is less mana usage on RS-line. With focus effects, the net is very little, and there's an argument the recast on RS is actually more of a nerf than anything. Raid-buffed, RS is 1.5s cast.

For non-raid focused Magicians, you should see a DPS increase. For the rest, just a little less mana usage.

intuition tells me i am burning through mana faster now.. btw i like faster cast times.. especially on rs because it is faster to get an offtank up as needed
