EQ Down Time

Yet another wonderful example of SoE's incompetence. It will be so fun watching out for identity theft for the next 10 GD years because they suck so bad at security ... security on a completely unrelated product.

Just to clear up, since I am at work and cannot log in, is it just the SOE online website, EQplayer, forums etc that are down or have they also shut down the EQ servers so we can't play?

Everything is dead, even the forums. I've getting reports from ppl that right as this went down their CC's had a major rash of attempted purchases. Might want to check your CC's FAST.

Just checked my credit card -- thus far no unusual activity other than my over spending :)
What a freaking mess -- wow, when i read about the initial issue which affected my PS3 I for some reason never made the connection to SOE and EQ in general. Where was my head at... oh well lets see what happens shall we.

When I saw my login was at server select it was showing me without the last 2 exps and no servers up. Others are reporting they were lvl 85 with massive rollbacks. Seems we might all be looking at at least a few days of rollbacks.... guess this last double xp weekend is a bust.

Here is what is going on. Cant find anyone anywhere that is saying their CC's got hacked, don't spread that smurf. Has nothing to do with the dbl exp or anything in game. It has to do with George Hotz. Wiki him if you don't know who he is.

This last weekend was already a bust because it wasn't even a full weekend, and MC/SS were laggy as all hell. As of lastnight they both still were. :x

First off, I wouldn't have said it if I didn't know people that said it happened to them. I know of 3 different people that said right as the servers were going down they were notified that LOTS of attempted charges happened to their CC. I'm not "spreading smurf".

I know JUST who the PS3 hacker is and personally feel Sony was freaking stupid for ever going after him. IMHO he didn't do jack smurf wrong.

I NEVER ONCE said it was linked to the double exp or ANYTHING IN GAME. You put those words in my mouth. I DID say that after looking at my server select it was showing the last 2 exps were missing. Lots of others reported the same. Some that logged right back in after they were init bounced from game saw they were lvl 85 again. Some of those did manage to get logged in and found they had toons from YEARS ago.

After seeing this I figured that at the least there would be a rollback of sorts. How far it goes I have no idea, but I suspect that part of the effort people made for double xp weekend will be wasted.

FYI: Seeing people say what was said about their CC and reporting it for other mages to spend the 5 minutes to look over their own cards isn't a bad thing. You make it sound like I'm being a prick for trying to help somebody avoid charges on their card.

You made so many assumptions about what I said it boggles the mind. Just like the one you made that I didn't know wtf was going on.
