6 Boxing, no mercs, silver membership....

With some of the FTP limitations just lifted (I wish they had raised the AA cap though..) I am going to try my hand at 6 boxing EQ. I just took a break from 6 boxing Vanguard, which is where I just heard about the changes to EQ in OOC chat actually, mostly I am leaving Vanguard because I got tired of falling through the world.
For 6 boxing here, I plan to stay away from mercs, since they would still be limited to apprentice level (I think), although I may subscribe my main account down the road, for now all will remain silver level accounts.
That being said, I will be having a mage pet main tanking, and will be doing the healing myself. Searching the forums, Shamans and Bards seem to be the go-to classes for boxing with mages (usually 3, 4 or 5 mages it seems), right now though I am thinking of a mage/wizard/wizard/cleric/enchanter/ and ?, (though these are the mage forums, only 1 mage in a group may sound like blasphemy). My goal is to have classes that will be effective at their roles with the 1000 AA cap limit. With the exception being the 1 class (In this case the mage, since the pet will be tanking and will want more AA's for that) that will be a gold membership later on.
Also, is it going to end up being a hassle to be contantly trying to heal the Mages pet with a Cleric?
