SoD has gotten boring to the point where i'm doing TS'ing again. Does anyone have a link (or a quick writeup) on the best way to start/progress Spell Research?

Intricate Binding Powder to Intricate Enchanted Spell Parchment. You need to research the spell Focus Mass Intricate Spellcaster's Empowering Essence.
All trivs 300+. Keep the Parchments to make spell scrolls for a further skill up chance.
Intricate BP is the first BP with a 300+ triv AFAIR.

Eqtraders has diddly squat on spell research, it's the one thing they don't have covered like a blanket.
*and thanks for the tip bastler.

You obviously didn't look at "posts since beginning".
Plenty of information there.

You're correct, i went to the section titled "learn a skill".....which apparently isn't where you learn skills.
I was able to find a quick trivial list after a bit of digging. Here's the link if anyone else was curious about it;

Oh yeah. I forgot all about that section. I used to use that too, and you are right - it has decayed.
But yeah, the forums generally have good information, but they are so infrequently posted these days that posts scroll off past the default 1 month.
I knew there was info there because I was racing a guy to be the first Researcher to 300 back in DoDH days (I lost to some low level Necro on Druzzil), and I wrote a lot of posts, and frequented the forums quite a bit for years thereafter, until recently when tradeskills pretty much died out. Pottery is still useful for the PSs. I know some people like to Bake, but I'd just as soon mass-produce party-platters than do any of the new stat foods.
Here's hoping the Underfoot Cultural revives things.
And for Research we'll be able to do TBS now. You know what I would like to see in Research is the ability to make a unique spell based on the theory. Or discover them with "special" parchment and no recipe. Hidden spells in the game, in other words, unlocked only by player ingenuity. I like that idea.
I have meandered from the topic. Good luck on your skillups. It won't take long using those binding powders. Then you'll be bored. Again. I know the feeling.

edit: Oh, just checked your link Red. You can also check

Thanks bara; those other links look pretty helpful as well.

I hope they allow us to make tomes for melee and hybrids. Seems rather dumb for a class to have to skill up one tradeskill to make tomes.

Well theyre melee classes who have to learn to write and then scribble down coherent thoughts to teach others...
