70 RS pet dps question. (Raging Servant)

Im level 71 and hunting in Paw, I guess mobs got about 33-35k hp.
If I send my RS pet on a mob to "off tank", me and my pet are bissy with other things. The RS pet dies after 18? seconds, and then I get a mob running at me at about 50% health.
If Im not bissy with anything and sends a RS pet towards a mob, and then my pet, and then nuke 3 times with a total of about 8k dmg. When RS pet dies after 18 seconds, the mob is about 50% health...
I havent parsed this, but it feels like the RS pet do a much better work if I dont assist him? I havent parsed it exactly, but this is the feeling I got.
Im I completley wrong (could happen)?

You're not wrong. The RS pet does last 18 seconds or until the mob kills it. You may wish to change your tactics regarding the RS line of pets. Try this out:
Have your pet and your RS pet attack a mob.
When the mob is dead or near dead send your regular pet to another mob (this is assuming you have pet focus) and let the RS pet finish the mob off.
If the first mob dies and your RS pet is still active then run up to the mob and get hit so the RS pet engages the new mob.
This method works pretty good for me; in fact I use this tactic in Thallassius for all my swarm pets. Just remember to have a good stack of healing potions on hand.

Maybe it's just difference in the type of mob or the actual distance to the mob you send your RS on.
A RS by himself will never outdps an RS + you nuking + regular pet. It's statistically impossible unless something was changed with the RS that we are unaware of.

Yesterday I noticed that I cast the RS pet on different distances... Sometimes I cast while the mob is beating at me, and sometimes the RS pet have to run for ~2 seconds to get to the mob. This could explain why I feel that the RS pet sometimes do more dmg and sometimes lack some dmg.

This is about what I do. If GoM procs and mob is below 20%, I send the RS pet to next mob, and kill the first mob asap. Also setting pet attack on second mob so pet get there asap after he kills the first mob.
I also tank when needed to engage RS/swarms to engage next mob. I play quite casual, so I only grab xp during my lesson of the devoted, and I bum my steadyfast servant to get me healed. But otherwise I use pots just like you.
