Hmm, how many AA do you have into pet? How many do you have into Mage DPS?

I'd say I have about 2/3 of the pet damage AAs (hard to say points offhand). I have spell crit AA at 13/15 and crit damage at 2 (it's next in the queue). However, and someone correct me if I'm wrong here, I don't believe crits affect aggro, so the only spell damage AA that would make it easier to pull aggro off your pet is quick damage, which I do have maxed.

Alright then lol... sounds good...I think he just sucks and doesnt know how to space his DMG out LOL. I will have to ping pong between pet defense and offense, and do mage dmg after i have a couple of the pet ones maxed out. I just am really in a pickle about what classes to use with my mage LOL. I could do 2 mages but I don't know about doing 2 of the same toons, that would get kind of repetitive.

humm my shaman / mage never get agro over pet,and at the start i chain cast DD with mage ,even if i cast twincast right at the beginning  and if pet die,the first who get agro is the shaman with his dots, even if he is maxed aa's..

if you see yourself get agro over pet,u just have to buy some reducing agro aa's ,or get some pet dps,my mage not even maxed on the agro reducer (forgot name ) aa and never get agro.
for me since i was boxing mage / shm :
1) pet defensive aa once until maxed .
2) Pet dps aa when def only not available.
3) mage dps ect when other 2 done.
for me the longer pet can survive being the main tank the better your chance to kill mobs.......

To be very honest 150 AAs is a very small amount to be basing a whole class on. That probably doesn't even cover all of our pet DMG AAs, let alone all of our AA pets, pet defensive, activated pet heals ect. Also, does your friend have our Raging Servant line(The spell that brought us into the DPs game)? And seeing as your friend went into all pet AAs he neglected to get Spell Casting Subtlety which at rank 3 lowers nuke aggro by 20%. In all honesty though your friend shouldn't be getting aggro that easily off of his pet at level 75. He should probably be waiting until around 95% or so to engage if he is having that much problems, or just get Spell Casting Subtlety and he will be fine.

Soloing is very boring to be honest. For the simple fact that your alone just consistently killing mobs w/o anyone to talk to unless your in a guild. It all depends on how you feel about it though. I would much rather solo then group with incompetent people who will just cause me endless deaths. And 9 out of 10 times I get more accomplished soloing then I do grouping, and I dont have to worry about someone messing up and training me. You also don't have to depend on a solid group to level either so there is a lot of upside to being able to solo, but it does get very boring if your more of a people person. It is also a nice way to kill time while you sit on the Looking for group list.

Mage soloing is as exciting or boring as you want it to be. To say soloing as a mage is boring seems disingenuous to me since it can be boring to solo with any class. If you're bored soloing somewhere, go and try to solo somewhere harder. I usually do my lesson burns on the rooftop of gyrospire beza (thanks to clicky port), and while not terribly hard, I get enough adds and unexepected named pops enough to keep me on my toes. Plus it's big fun to get knocked off the roof and then frantically try to click my port clicky before I hit the ground (I've actually fallen, hit the ground, ported back to the roof, and then died from the falling damage).

My other grind spot is katta elementals, and while I enjoy trying to see how fast and efficiently I can clear them out, I can see where someone might consider fighting mobs that low boring. It's all a matter of preference.

And just curious, what do they consider a fun class to solo?

/Nods. That was where I was trying to get Merl. Plain and simple no class is fun to solo with for pretty much the reasons I listed. Maybe nec/wiz might be more fun for the simple fact kiting keeps you occupied while mage is pretty much sick fluffy on the mob and nuke while your merc heals. I find it very fun to hit more of the challenging zones to show yeah I can solo here and stuff like that. For example when TSS first hit I spent a good amount of time trying to solo in Ashengate with just Anguish pet focus and only lvl 73. I was smurf proud when I finally dropped one of the clay golems at the entrance. :D

Ya, soloing with any toon is pretty much boring. But I wont be soloing, I will have shammy, and one other toon not sure which. My friend decided to go with Warr, Sham ,Rogue...wonder how that will work for him.

So, I will be playing again in 30 days or so. The question is...Warrior, Rogue, Mage...or Warrior Rogue, Beastlord. Please advise
