pets weapons and questions

randomly enough several of my guildies were asking lately bout pets and thier weapons.
1. does dely effect the pets amount of damage (ie does the bsty pet do more damage w/o the weapon than with it due to slowing the pet down)
2. does the amount of damage on a pet weapon have a darn thing to do with any thing with your highest lvl pet

to the best of my personal knowlage it doesnt on either of these but figured i would throw it out there to see if im right or not, given i had always heard over lvl 20 it really didnt matter on the amount of base damage on a weapon and that your pet ignores dely

There is no situation where giving a pet weapons will cause a decrease in DPS. Equipping a pet with summoned weapons in every case makes the pet either equal to its base damage or better.

My understanding was that the damage/delay doesn't matter. The only thing giving pet weapons does it add procs and some HP.

only way you can 'decrease' dps by giving pet a weapon is for instance (yeah i did this once stupidly) my pet had 2 summoned weapons, i was looting corpses and picked up a crappy defiant mnk/bst weapon. I tried to drop it and pet trade window opened, so instead of closing it and fishing it out of my bags to drop again i just hit trade...pet equipped the no proc defiant weapon due to a faster delay o.O.

So, the only dps he lost was in the form of stat and proc loss which i dont think amounts to much anyway.

But, if your pet doesnt have any weapons and give him the crappy mnk/bst weapon i guess there is a slight gain with stats and pet wont equip a summoned weapon later over the mnk/bst weapon due to delay.
