Next Expansion Pets

In the next expansion, something needs to change with the water pet nuke - its so weak that the pet does less damage if it doesnt do it.
Instead of not casting, I think a better fix would be to increase the nuke damage so that it is a dps increase to leave it on

Does anyone else have comments for any of the pets in the 86-90 category?

As far as I know the problem with the nuke interrupting combat rounds was solved?
Also read your post again it doesnt make sense the way you wrote it. :roll:

I'm not sure if it was resolved or not, but I leave my pet with cast on when raiding. Regardless of if it's on or not, the water pet is still the best dps pet, so no biggie in my book.

iirc it was solved during SoF. So, you should be having your water pet cast as you don't lose any DPS when it does so.

Our pets need scaled, and with so much outcries from the general community, this is not likely to happen. We MUST push this, hard. IMO they should be more defining. Fire pet should be best dps pet, and weakest HP/mitigation. Let burnout give him like 60% chance to crit nuke/6% chance to twincast would seem like an easy solution.

Define the rest of the pets with their base qualities, but amplify them. Make us want to change pets for different mobs/groups/events.

We need the pet AA to scale, more agility/hp increasers, and a HUGE spell/dot damage redux/hp increase for RS pets. We should not be losing 1/3 or more of our dps to AE spells during a raid.

Id be ok if they just made it so AE spells didn't bypass our pet runes. I was under the impression that was one of the big reasons for putting that spell line in to begin with.

Completely agree, this is one of the things i'd like to see, more specialized pets. Water/fire should kill air in dps. Fire needs to be buffable or at least do like 3-4X the base dps.

how about instead of buffs, just make the fire pet do far more damage with each lvl of pet focus

That is the ticket.
The fire pet is fine except for needing a DPS boost and some form of FBO increase.

I asked about getting FBO to work on the fire pet last year and was told that the code won't let that happen, however i do think we should push to have the fire pet cast a higher nuke for 90 seconds or reduce the fire pet's recast time by half for 90 seconds by means of an AA witht he same refresh timer as FBO.

As for a beefier Fire pet, while i would not complain if they did give it more HP's, IMO this is not a high priority.
Fire pets are not tanks and if they die to AOE's on raids, just cast another one.
Look at the mana cost of making a new pet versus a heal spell.
So why worry if it dies?
