Mana Regen AA's

Post by Mendoros07 »

I know folks have talked about this a bit, I just finished 2000 aa on my alt Mage. I don't have ONE, not one of the mana regen aa's. Figured with OOC it was pretty useless. All my pet offensive, defensive and personal DPS aa's done. Lots more... but just to clear things up, with the massive investment of aa's on the mana regen ones, just how much more mana per tick can I expect? The thought of working through those is giving me heartburn but considering I am always running out of mana, guess that's next. Thanks to UF got 2 of the mana return thingies, one from my primary and then an aug. That helps tremendously but I guess I have no other route other than honker down and get these aa's correct?

Hunker down, dude. With the awesome xp in UF and a several lesson burns you'll get them knocked out in no time.

Awesome xp in UF? You must be going to a different UF than me. I still get far better xp grinding in Beza than in UF zones, grouping or solo. Maybe I'm just not going to the right spots though. I'm only T8 flagged and haven't spent much time there to boot.

YMMV but with a full group with a good tank, good healer and proper DPS I've found the UF zones to give excellent xp. Maybe not the best in the game but I'd rather hang myself than do Beza... not to mention that in UF you'll have the opportunity to get non-visible drops that might upgrade your gear. There are also a ton of awesome UF augs that would be smart to camp and the opportunity to get purity augs. My strategy might be different than most, but I almost never play strictly to xp. I always have a goal of a certain drop or a certain progression task and xp naturally comes when working to achieve those goals.

Wasn't trying to dis underfoot on the whole, just saying I personally don't usually get very good xp soloing/moloing/boxing there. I imagine the story might be better with a full group, but usually if I'm in UF with a full group it's to do a progression task. I typically don't play just for xp either, but I do usually do my 30 minute lesson burn in beza and then go off to do whatever tickles my fancy that day (or blow my lesson in the guild lobby at the end of my play session and then do a double-session in beza the next day).

i have had one play session in UF where it was strictly loot camping (getting ebon crook for a guildy) and the xp certainly wasn't terrible, and the loot was good (on top of the crook got a clay and the zonewide mask drop for my wife's chanter).

And as a side note why do you hate Beza? I have the clicky to get to the roof and it's a great burn spot. Lots of mobs, easy but not trivial (if I'm not paying attention and pull too many death is still a real possibility) and the loot is good. I usually pull in 2-3K per lesson, more if I get one of the more valuable rk 2 tomes that drop up there. I also average 8-9 AA a lesson.

i like UF xp,specially in lichen creep (instance ).
that task reward giving for me (maxed aa ) about 4 aa. (OMM task is about 2 ) .
i am banking some now for when the new expansion come out (got 6 banked now ).
we can bank up to 10 now........should give me 40+ aa's unless i decide to get them while running lotd (with reg xp ).and would be lv 86.........

my group is usually :
shaman (main ) and mage alt.
ranger (main ) and necro alt.
another mage lv 83
and one healer merc.

Just a matter of personal preference. Doing two year old, two expansions ago content (soon to be three) just isn't fun to me. Up until about a year ago I was occasionally going to SHIP for the reasons you mentioned but I no longer find myself in need of plat or AAs so there is no appeal for xp burns except when I die too much on raids.

Sorry, I didn't mean to diss your spot. I just think there are more interesting things out there to do. ;)

Fair enough. I went on break for a couple of years and came back during SoD, so I never got to have the group experience in SoF, TBS or PoR. Thus I had a lot of content to cover in a relatively short amount of time. Of all of those expansions I think SoF is my favorite just for the environments and enemies, though SoD is pretty solid as well. I love the added selection of mobs the ATA line affects, and it'll be a while before I get tired of nuking clockworks and golems with them. Plus SoF was just loaded with clockworks, and they're just fun.

Unless it has changed again, lotd doesn't work for tasks/missions anymore on either AAs or regular xp. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

They were talking about banking completed UF tasks, not OMMs. Some UF tasks give a pretty hefty AA reward when completed.
