Epic 2 w/ 2 symp augs or new weapon w/ 1 aug?

I am wondering - which is more effective. Using Epic 2 and an old raid ranged item (say from Demiplane) with all 3 symp mana augs OR using an UF group weapon + ranged with just 1 symp mana aug?
Any insight would be most welcome.

Your epic + range with all 3 augs would yield a lot more mana over time. It'd prolly take a couple of mobs before you had enough procs to break even with the mana you'd lose from upgrading your weapon. Everything after that would be profit.

You can put 2 UF augs into the epic.

The symp mana augs fit only in main, secondary and ranged slots. There are 3 such augs and they are type 4 and 8. Using new gear I could use just 1 of the 3 in the type 4 slot in the weapon. Using an epic 2.0 or 1.5 and an old ranged item I could use all 3 augs. Because I dont raid new stuff I dont have access to new gear with type 8 in prim/sec/ranged, well in any slot really. Keeping the shield slot for a newer item means I get the most shield ac - which is preferable.

As many of the Mana proc augs you can get in your sets, you should.
