Level 71 Air Pet vs Monster Summoning V

Am planning on going to 76 for the Air pet, but which should I use till then? Don't remember the info from old page, so am wondering would Monster Summoning V or the level 71 Air Pet be better to use.

I'd stick with the 71 air pet imo. I've never really used the monster summoning pets at all except when I got my first one because I thought it was neat to see a zone mob as pet..Air pets are monsters and I think majority of mages prefer air pets over anyother pets,though I see some use fire from time to time..

I personally never saw much difference between MS and Air. Roughly the same dps and tanking power, it just came down to a image thing - obviously MS won. Only gave it up in SoF cause it was broken

Air pet ftw. The only time MS was better then air pet was iirc in TSS/TBS.

71 air and MSV are the TSS/TBS pets

In TSS, MS was better DPS, but worse at tanking than the Air pet. However, it was still better than Water's tanking ability, so MS got used a lot on raids where Backstab wasn't always an option. MS got slaughtered in SoF and the line is now dead. The TSS pet took 6 months to get fixed, the SoF one wasn't ever recovered.
