New patcher required to login?

I see the servers are up at this website (official): http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/network_status.vm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

but I still cannot log into the game. I have the version 2 patcher and it still shows the servers as locked. With this latest patch, do we need the version 3 patcher or the game will not let us log in? The new patcher is saying I need to download 6GB of content!!! Ouch!

Don't need new patcher - the SOE network is a bloody mess even now at 8:30pm eastern. And GL, at least on bertox, has a ton of people stuck in it so zoning in there if you even can get on takes forever...

If you are having issues still, you need to flush the DNS cache on your machine. You can do that two ways: 1. Reboot your machine or 2. open a window with a command prompt and type: ipconfig /flushdns
