Mage Armor Set

Hi all, was hoping one of you old school mage's can shed some light on whether there was an armor set for mage's in EQ vanilla? I have been doing quite a bit of research on item's, spell's, and all things mage's since I plan on making one on the new TLP server. I just can't seem to find anything besides our Robe of the Elements and few other items in the Temple of Sol Ro. What I am looking for is the level 30ish quest set like other classes get. Rangers get Ivy Etched, Warrior's get Crafted Armor, Paladins get Ro set, and several other classes get their own set as well. Were mage's ever given a set of their own or did they just grab pieces here and there from several dungeons?

There isnt a quest but they added these to the game random drops:

What sort of items and content will and will not be available at launch on Fippy?

* For the Fippy Darkpaw Server we have done our absolute best to remove items which would give an inappropriate or undue advantage such as Defiant Armor or certain tradeskill related items. Generally the items that you will find should be items that came with the expansion currently available or were unlocked during that expansion. Augments created specifically for progression servers will be available.

IIRC casters didn't get armor sets like warriors crafted or rangers ivy etched. We were pretty much required to either camp drops or buy them from other players. Using this definition that as "set" is stuff with a like "prefix" to the name...

If Plane of Hate is open at the start, there was a whole set of armor there. Prior to that I don't think we had a set.
Kunark continued the mish mash with again no real defined set.
After that one there are the various Velious sets depending what faction you want to pursue, but the best stuff isn't in any of those sets.
Luclin once again returned to the days of there not being a defined set.
PoP then again had sets for everyone, and I think every expansion after that has as well.

Thanks for all the responses. Yeah this is for the TLP server, so only the original server is available and no defiant armor, but thank you for the info regardless. The first link that Tweelis provided is a huge help, thanks!

I think instead of an armor set we got our low level focus quests (broom, stein, etc).
