Post by Vincentt »

Googled and stuff, but couldn't find.

What is aDPS?

Tx in advance.

I'm still somewhat new to the mage class, but the qattack I believe is Queque (spelling) attack. Basically can you tell you pet what order you want it to attack mobs in. As it won't go to the next mob until the current mob is dead.

aDPS, not sure what the a stands for. Its more like an indirect DPS. Bards group songs are a good example. They boost players DPS, but it generally doesn't give credit to the bard even though he is the one providing the extra boost.

Can't think of a better way to explain.

The other person described queue target well. If you haven't yet, set up a cycle targets key so you can quickly switch targets to queue them. Unless it has changed since my retirement, there isn't one set by default.

Qattack simply creates a queue of targets for your pet to attack and what order, i.e. a list that says attack mob a then b then c. Without /pet focus ("focus" on the pet ui) toggled on, your pet may just build his own hatelist and make his own priorities on what to kill when. When you have focus on, using qattack will tell your pet what order you want mobs dead in. It works similarly if you have hold on. With Ghold (greater hold) turned on, your pet won't attack anything unless told; you can get your pet to attack another mob when the first one is dead if you use qattack while greater hold is on. With ghold on and using qattack, your pet will go through each mob you tell it to qattack in the order you clicked qattack. Additionally, in all situations, qattack is a way to add mobs to your pet's hatelist without the pet switching targets as will happen if you simply click "attack."

aDPS stands for attributable DPS. This is dps not directly seen but helps boost your dps. Examples include haste buffs, attack buffs, spell procs, extra spell damage, etc.

1) do you 95s use Qattack exclusively? Seems like the way to go to me.

2)If a target is mezed, and you qattack it, will the pet engage as soon as mez is broken?

1. It is situational. If there is a tank you do not want the pet engaging before the player finds the target and positions it. When soloing or the pet is a back up tank qattack will not help if a mob jumps the merc or a non-tank. Use regular attack to pull aggro then return it to the prior targets. A garg pet makes an excellent off-tank but casting it can break mezzes. A good mezzer won't need help on crowd control but...

2. No.

3. I had three 'attack' keys. Qattack, attack, and an one with /pet back off triggered before /pet attack to reset the pet hate list if the queue needed resetting.

4. If my memory serves, chanters using AOE blurs wipe the pet's queue.
