RoF Pet Parses
RoF Pet Parses
Just did some parses on pets.
Air pet did 3800 DPS Slashing
Earth pet did 3500 DPS Slashing
Water pet Did 3700 DPS Slashing, 1000 DPS backstabbing
Fire pet did 2400 DPS Slashing, and 4400 DPS Nuking.
With Surge of Arcanum, the pets add 3000-4000 Spell DPS from the dmg shield.
So a fire pet is doing 10k Dps ! when melee'ing with Surge up.
Tanking...
Water pet is taking 4000 DPS in T2
Air pet is taking 3600 DPS in T2
Earth pet is taking 3000'ish DPS in T2
this might surprise you... Fire pet only Taking 4400 DPS in T2
Tanks 1 mob fine with a balanced merc healer, never dropped below 50%.
That's with iceflame Up .
Both pets were casting their respective spells. ( stun & shield )
Air pet did 3800 DPS Slashing

Re: RoF Pet Parses
Even without the earth pet's new shielding proc, If you don't like the root associated with it, Earth pet is taking 3400 DPS, significantly less than air, & also has more hitpoints.
All parses were on a yellow con ( @ lvl 100 ) 'a palace guard'

Re: RoF Pet Parses
EM 17 Pets...
Against a yellow con @ 100 'a palace guard'
& Earth and Air also vs. a Blue conning 'a palace guard'
Earth
Took 2800 DPS Vs. Lvl 101 and Lvl 99 mob ( he procs shielding whether root is landing or not, contrary to what i've read )
Dealt 3900 Slashing DPS
Air
Vs. Lvl 101 Guard ( cant stun )
Took 4100 DPS
Dealt 4100 Slashing DPS
Vs. Lvl 99 Guard ( stunnable )
Took 3400 DPS
Dealt 4100 Slashing DPS
Water
Took 4300 DPS
Dealt 5000 DPS ( 4100 Slashing, 750 Backstab, 150 Spell )
Fire
Took 4450 DPS
Dealt 7800 DPS ( 4400 Spell, 2400 Slash )
The parses were about 300 seconds.
Where the pets work well.
Earth, anywhere you may get multiple adds, anywhere you want a strong tank.
Fire, During lessons ( with merc ) & groups when you can use it in melee range.
Air, Non-merc solo'ing. Reduces Inc Dmg to tanking servants, works well with de-aggro swords.
In groups where your tank needs the help.
Water, Best Raid Pet... Solid pet for soloing with merc, if adds arent too dicey. ( have tanked Most T2 named with em13 water pet )

Re: RoF Pet Parses
I do hope you realize 300 seconds is far too short to parse.
When I parse pets mine last roughly 2600 seconds and prove to be more accurate then shorter parses. On shorter parses you lose out on seeing flurry chance and avg hit. Avg hit tends to be higher.
As to this data, Fire pet should come out on top because he can not be interrupted AFAIK. And every 4 seconds he casts a nuke. Where as you have melee pets that get hit and stunned, then you turn in bad rounds and it snowballs. Fire pet does not have bad rounds because the nuke does not fluctuate at all. As your parses show about 30% of his DMG is melee, the other 70ish is nuking. Whereas Water is at like 99% melee DMG, which when it gets stunned or whatever it throws the whole round and everything out of whack.
Not to mention, If you compare it to a Rogue or Ber they do less DPS when being hit. So does every class, but possibly tanks because of certain abilities.
As a parsing note. You need to say what buffs the pet had on, if they had weapons. Also showing the parse rip number helps to accurately display the time alotted and the overall DPS for people to see.
Also, DPS parses while tanking are deceiving. W/o a doubt good to know, but it is not necessarily data that should be used when comparing pets around.

Re: RoF Pet Parses
Of course, the longer the better. This is as much time as I felt like putting into it. They are approximate figures for tanking, & since no one else has taken the time to post tanking figures, I'd hoped it would be helpful for anyone reading, as a 'rough' baseline. The numbers are not perfect, but they did stay within a very consistent range, and the numbers I posted are the midpoint of that range. ( example, the earth pet took as little as 2600 DPS with em 17, and as much as 3000, so I parsed him multiple fights @ 300s, the air pet also had some variance, so I parsed him more than once, though never in that variance did he take less damage than earth. )
Parsing tanking takes time & attention, you can't do it on a dummy. You have to pull the mob to a safe point, and the mob dies after just 300 seconds. I had to run around to find a mob of the same type & lvl for every parse, & I paired up with my enc for the ability to see the mobs buffs, to make sure the mob was not buffed from a nearby NPC.
All parses were with Rage swords, Iceflame, and Burnout only. The DD damage from Iceflame is not posted, it's approx 200-300 DPS, DD weapon procs would probably add another 300+ DPS.
No ones stopping you or anyone else from doing longer more accurate parses, would love to see that myself. Have seen your parses for weaves & the new rain, & those were very helpful.

Re: RoF Pet Parses
Considering I have parsed probably double the amount anyone has parsed for our class over the years, I know no one is stopping me. If I posted every parse I have done it would spam the boards and people would probably not get much out of them.
Nothing has changed with tanking. Earth wins, followed by Air then Water then Fire. That is how its been since mid-way through UF. If something new happened parses would be posted to show why X is happening where Y was going on before. Like I plan on doing for Rains, because they are going into our Weave as a better fit then other spells.
No need to get upset. You were lacking data. If your going to take the time to parse that is great, but doing so w/o accurately displaying the entire scenario does nothing in terms of comparing one thing to another.

Re: RoF Pet Parses
You can on test dummy on test in the arena. If you have the space on your computer, make a copy of your eq file, name it something you want, then load from the test patcher. Takes about 10-20 mins to copy; maybe faster if you have a great computer. Make sure to do a /testcopy so you have your toon there when you log in.Cielli wrote:

It takes about 5 minutes for all values to populate properly so that you don't see "streaks" (normalized). Anything below that runs the risk or seeing RNG streaks.
But, like you said, it's all dependent on the time you have and want to invest.
