EM VIII

Is there a huge difference in pet power from spire servant focus to EM VIII?? I know the pet will hit for more and has more hps, but is it a night and day difference in pet power/tankability??

When I went from spire servant to EM3 I noticed a pretty big difference while soloing in Beza. The air pet tanks a lot better and hits a little bit harder. I'm not sure how much of a difference there is for dps numbers for the water or fire pet but I'd guess it'd be pretty significant.

I don't think there'd be much of a difference in the fire pet. From my understanding there is a trivial difference in spell damage (maybe a few points per cast, if any at all) and you're not usually meleeing with fire. The biggest difference would come from the raise in pet level, which means it might be able to land spells a little better.

short answer; yes. Massive difference.

I can't recall numbers off the top of my head, but expect to get about a 450 ac boost and several thousand hitpoints to the air pet. To put it in perspective, with spire servant you can probably take 2 brownies at a time (no merc for this comparison). With EMVIII you can take 4 with no problem, and up to 6 or 7 with fortify running (again, no merc).

I posted this in the pet stats topic. You can see what kind of difference there is in pet power by looking at the pic below. Please note, that the AC values on it are RAW AC. This doesn't have any sort of soft AC cap like players are affected by. So in other words, the AC increases that you see per tier is as if you were equipping a shield that had that much AC on it onto the pet each focus tier.

Spire Servant Air Pet:

Hitpoints 18113
Base AC 978
Damage 365

EM3 Air Pet:

Hitpoints 19504
Base AC 1403
Damage 393

The difference:

Hitpoints 1391
AC 425
Damage 28

Do those hp/ac numbers include the summoned armor the pets come with?

These are the raw numbers before anything like armor that pets come summoned with, or AAs (like for hps).
