Shared Health
Does the Shared Health AA transfer melee and spell damage from the caster to his pet?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Shared Health
I have the first level of this from years ago but I don't recall the answer to your question. Should be easy enough to find out though. Go to an arena with a friend and turn it on and have him nuke you.
Re: Shared Health
The reason you don't have many responses, is that this AA is very limited in value...you bascially have to be sitting right on top of your pet for the aa to function, and mages don't like being that close to the mobs. Personally, I wouldn't purchase it.
Re: Shared Health
I've often wondered about the value of this AA. On its face it seems very useful, but it has enough downsides that I haven't bought it:
1 - When I die, it's usually smurf fast. Often too fast for me to do much about it. For those cases I doubt I'd be able to react in time to pop this.
2 - To be able to pop it fast enough I'd have to have it on a quickbar, preferably one tied to my 1-0 keys (no ctrl, shift, etc required). That particular bar is already pretty cluttered, and I'm pretty set in my ways on what those buttons do. Old dogs and new tricks, you know the saying...
3 - Ok, so you transfer a % of damage to your pet. My pet might have quite a few HP, but how many rounds of something beating on me with my crappy tanking abilities would it take to drain my pet, and then leave me back at square 1 with no pet to bail me out?
4 - If the range is very limited as suggested above, then it probably won't do me much good. The times I need saving the most are when I get an add and I'm not very close to my pet.
It seems to me that CoN makes a much better emergency save AA, and even RS would be better to buy you enough time to get things under control.

Re: Shared Health
Shared Health uses the same shielding code that Warriors get, so... they might know if it transfers spell damage aswell. I really doubt it though.
In SoD, the range of this ability was 25 feet. In Underfoot it will be around 43 feet. We asked, and they don't want to upgrade the range to a point where it would be useful to us defensively.
For Mages, this ability is supposed to be used offensively, not defensively. The best scenario for it is to fight next to your pet with high damage shields on both of you. The damage transfer counts as a hit, so the damage shield fires twice as much.
The best use I've found for this is AoE-ing mobs. Shared Health, Twincast, Supernova weapon procs, Hulking Bodyguard, massive damage shields and Beam all being used together get things dead nicely.

And gives a very surprisingly strong sense of satisfaction hehe!wire wrote: Shared Health, Twincast, Supernova weapon procs, Hulking Bodyguard, massive damage shields and Beam all being used together get things dead nicely.

Re: Shared Health
Darn, I was hoping the range was at least doubled by the AA. I didn't buy more than level 1 for years because it was so hard to use with the limited distance. I normally click Stone Core first thing if I'm being hit, as you don't even need a pet up to click that one.wire wrote:In SoD, the range of this ability was 25 feet. I keep Shared Health right beside Stone Core on my defensive Hot Key bar.
Stone core gets used the most, but if I have a Fire Pet up, it is usually right beside me and Shared health works just fine in that setup.
