FoS1 is nasty. . .
FoS1 is nasty. . .
In the tradition of raiding year old+ content, we moved to attempt FoS1 raid, a council divided in Kaesora Library.
And, fall down, go boom.
Here is just 1 of the mobs (there are 8 total).
Sirsei, Second Council Member - 33
--- Clawing Darkness - 2
--- Fiery Withering - 8 <--- 10k AE + 2k DoT (Fire based)
--- Fire Vulnerability I - 3 <--- +50% to Fire damage, -600 to FR
--- Fire Vulnerability II - 1 <--- +100% to Fire damage, -600 FR
--- Fire Vulnerability III - 1 <--- +250% to Fire damage, -600 FR
--- Mortal Coil - 5
--- Scent of Gloom - 5
--- Soul Reaper's Pyre - 4
--- Splart - 4
All of which was during the 110 seconds that we were alive.
Now, I realize this is a tough raid, we aren't expecting to just plow through a win on first try. But, seriously, I'm at a bit of a loss here without getting 12 more healers to fill out the raid. Especially when the mob cheats and casts 2 spells at a time (the fire vulnerability has zero cast time).

And here is a fun one, the mob double cast the spell.

Seriously? I must be missing something here if 1 mob of the 8 we must deal with is doing that much alone. My pet was dead 1 minute into fight, fully raid buffed with aegis on it.

Re: FoS1 is nasty. . .
One of the harder events in SoD imo, it's not just you
. It's also one of those you are at a real disadvantage if you have a less than full raid because you have to split up so much.

Re: FoS1 is nasty. . .
Yes, that's really what it comes down to, numbers (and gear).
A group that is still pre-Crystallos, with raids around 42 instead of 54, trying to do SoD raids other than Queen/Rott, so we can at least see what we are missing.
This raid looks like I need 12 good tanks and 20 healers.

Skup this event for now. Tower is 10 x easier.

We are trying Korafax raids next week.Enocha wrote:Skup this event for now. Tower is 10 x easier.
We basically just decided we wanted to see the content, even if it means wiping out repeatedly. So we are trying new raids out, although it normally ends badly.

Re: FoS1 is nasty. . .
The Kurn's raid is easier than the council raid. And Pallorax is the most gimp mob in all of SoD (unless they fixed his fear). Nothing to be gained from Kaesora except tomes and spells really. If you're just looking, yeah, you saw it...seriously. Warrens is rather easy too as long as you have a chanter and offtank on their games. Also, no mezz breaks. We've been farming Kora for 2 or so months and tower for about a month or so and we decided to do Kaesora again. Tried 3 times and failed all 3. Mostly due to balance issues and the last one was from running out of time. Killed the last mob just as timer ran out. Hits zero health, falls, bam, reset. Sucks. One of the worst SoD raids.
Re: FoS1 is nasty. . .
A dev responded recently about pallorax and said that the fear was causing people to be falling through the world in some cases, and they don't have the resources or care really to fix the fear, so they fear has been removed permanently. So, pallorax is a great raid for the low/mid raid guild to do since it's really so easy. The only thing you need to worry about is having enough dps to take him down in time before he goes into uber mode.Voragath wrote:The Kurn's raid is easier than the council raid. Re: FoS1 is nasty. . .
We've attempted Council Divided a few times too and have yet to beat it, even though we came close on our last attempt. Keep in mind only 4 of the 8 will cast those nasty spells. The good members don't really cast anything at all. This is definitely a tough one but we are determined to beat it as we refine and tune our strats on every attempt. We usually get owned when our CC teams bite the dust.
So you have an idea where we are, we are farming MMM, most keyed for Crystallos (but haven't started there yet) and have beaten Rott, Queen and Pallorax.

Re: FoS1 is nasty. . .
I think we have that. Even in 36 man version, we often kill Rott in under 4 minutes.Darkenr wrote: So, pallorax is a great raid for the low/mid raid guild to do since it's really so easy. Oh, we had somebody spawn FoS3 raid for us. Have to say that was a fun to see! All the dragons flying, squads of iksar forming up to march into battle.
We didn't get past round 5 dragon though. But even then it not really a "wipe" since most people are still alive, you just reset and try again.
Re: FoS1 is nasty. . .
Well, since this is FAR off of our rader now, a few tips.
The 4 "good" guys can just be kited. And, actually, the mezz for about the first 40% of the fight. Stuns should also work in some situations.
The AEs have a pretty limited range, so keeping them separated is important.
You could avoid killing your tanks by using a pet or two with /pet Taunt on and hate proc weapons. The main nuke goes to the top on the hate list for the "bad" guy, and pets can fill that.
Next up, there's a balance mechanic built into the fight. But you have to have them all below 10% before you can kill.
