Have seen the thread from the cauldrons and stumbled over this. Never equipped a waterpet with 1HB.

Would wavetrasher be an upgrade over Winterbane for the waterpet? Seems Winterbane has 1 more backsab-damage.

Water pets will backstab regardless of weapon type, even when you don't have any weapon equipped.

Not sure about the +backstab bonus part though.

I can't recall ever seeing a difference in pet's max backstab with or without a weapon.
