AA Help
AA Help
Hi All,
Got a quick AA question for you. Trying to get a list of what I should be working towards over the next few lvls. Here is what I have and some info about my playstyle etc.
I recently came back to the game after around 3 and a half years. I solo almost exclusively due to my erratic play times. I do have a Merc though I don't always bring him out. I am currently 66, I could ding 67 but currently working on AAs while raising the money to buy the runes for my spells. I have one more rune needed for lvl 66 (last spell is the upgrade to shield of maelin). Then I will AA until I can buy a spell or two in 67, then ding 67 scribe and lvl until I am almost 68.
Along the way any money I make will go towards runes for the balance of 67 and hopefully the start of 68. Once I get to the last 3 blue bubs of 67, I will stop and go 100% AA until I have all the runes for the spells of 67(If I dont already) and first couple of 68. Then rinse and repeat.
I currently have 82-83 AAs. Here is where I have placed them so far.
Run 5
Innate Metabolism 3
Spell Casting Mastery 3
Spell Casting Fury 3
Mnemonic Rentention 1
Elemental Fury 1( Pet Crit)
Elemental Alac 1 (Pet Flurry)
Mend Companion 1
Servant of Ro 1
Pet Hold
Host of Elements 1
Pet Affinity 1
I think I got the 2 elemental AA right? It was rank 1 of each of the crit and flurry ones. And I cant remember if pet hold had 1 or 2 ranks. I have to do a magelo, and I don't have the eqplayers upgrade so only shows the number of AAs but not where they are distributed.
I plan on getting the 2 ranks of suspend minion and the advanced suspend next. But after that where should I go-
Pet AAs (more ranks of Crit, Flurry and HP)
Nuke AAs (crits etc)
I cant remember, does the elemental forms offer anything worth getting, does one have a mana regen addition? If so I would think that would be one I should get.
Right now I have been lvling in Bot on the Tyvs when you come up the stairs. With or without the Merc it has been good AA. The loot isn't the best, but I do net a few gems a night so that helps pay for the merc when I use him and helps add to my rune savings.
Thanks in advance!

Re: AA Help
I don't think I saw any mention of any of the pet defensives in there except the HP AA. I would highly suggest working on getting elemental agility (pet avoidance which you can get starting at level 65), and any other pet defensive you can along with your spell crit, destructive fury, pet crits, and flurry AAs first. Those will take you a while. Those pet defensive AAs though make a significant difference in the survivability of your pet if you're pet tanking especially since you're a soloer. Also find a mage to summon you high level pet armor for you as well which will also make a big difference in your pet's ability to tank. You're going to want to make your pet the best tank you can.
Also you're going to want to work on getting a good pet focus as well, because that also makes a very significant difference. At your level you may be able to get the elaborate defiant summoner's earring in PoK off the item merchants which has a Minion of Darkness focus, but if you would like the Minion of Eternity The Sweeper drops in TBS that drops off the Regura Warcaller on the SSW island on the western side of it. The warcaller can spawn at any of the regura camps on that island, so take a quick run around the island to look at all the regura, and if it's not up, start killing those regura and you'll eventually get the warcaller to spawn. The regura are also mobs that were changed to be "weak" mobs so you should have no issues at all taking them out. You could probably solo them without a merc even for some decent exp while farming the pet focus.
Hope this helps,

Re: AA Help
Thanks Dark,
I will definitely start working on the pet AAs. I do have a sweeper now, and I believe that is good through the 75 pet, is that correct? So I should look for the pet packs then? I wasn't sure if it was worth it. I guess any hp is good hp when it comes to the pet as a tank.
Thanks again!

Re: AA Help
Pet flurry > pet crits.
If possible and you have a mage friend with the 1st cauldron, get the skull. You can "suspend" that pet via shroud, till you have finished the aa for that.
It works on the lvl 66 pet, and gives it a massive boost, which will help you with your lvling.

Re: AA Help
Minion of Eternity (Plane of Time equivelant for a level 65) is about the best you can get till 75 yes unless you can get people to take out certain raid targets for you. At 75 you're going to want to get the Elegant Summoner's Earring which will give you servant of chaos (Anguish level pet focus) off the defiant armor merchant in PoK. And yes, get flurries before crits, and get any pet defensives as they become available.Qnyin wrote:Thanks Dark,

Re: AA Help
Since you use a merc and your alrdy 66 which should mean you have an air pet i would just lvl hardcore. Your going to see your biggest upgrades in DPS/tanking ability as you break the lvl marks. and at 71+ you can start buying your spells at rank 1 so you won't have to deal with those smurf runes.
Generally (before mercs) I would say go hardcore defensives, but since you have a merc I would go and max out your nuke AAs/pet DPS AAs and such so that you can DPS the mobs down since you don't need to work on heals. I would get the Replenish Companion line though, it is one of our best AAs in the solo/raid game. Pretty much an oh smurf when the merc decides to not heal your pet hit it and it gives a good chunk amount of hp back to your pet. Now I am not saying that defensives won't help I am just saying that merc healers are pretty smurf good so you can slack off on those a bit and work on DPS so you can kill the mobs and not just tank them to death.
