Manastone Broken
I doubt many of you care, but it's important to me. The Manastone has been nerfed/broken. I can only cast it now when out of combat, that was NOT the case before. I don't understand the need to change it NOW after all those years. With mana pools over 30,000 and OOC regen filling you up in a few min, 20 mana/click is laughable but I still wanted it to work. Why the heck change it NOW?
Can't seem to find any official statement about that either.

Re: Manastone Broken
i understand you wanting an item to work but you can regen way more sitting now adays guy

Re: Manastone Broken
Would be an awesome item for a 65-80'ish mage aa'ing in paw. Insta-cast mana convert is very nice, and if it's nerfed to ooc only it defeats the entire purpose of it (why spam click when you can just sit on your butt and get mana just as fast). Sucks to hear that :(

Re: Manastone Broken
There is a manastone available through the Old Man McKenzie monster missions (or buyable with brews) that from my understanding behaves exactly like the old manastone. The only difference is that it's no trade.MeatnPotatoes wrote:i thought that the manastone only worked in oldworld zones.. if this is not the case, which zone does it not work in? Were you trying this on one of the original manastones, or one of the McKenzie stones?
Re: Manastone Broken
The old mans Manastone got a 11 sec recast limit and a req level of 80.Merlaina wrote: There is a manastone available through the Old Man McKenzie monster missions (or buyable with brews) that from my understanding behaves exactly like the old manastone. The only difference is that it's no trade.
Thats 20 mana every 11 seconds in paw, for 60 hp.
I had a Manastone in the old days. I stoned myself to death quite a few times. That is not possible with the new ones...
With the old ones you could transfer 6khp into 2kmana in a couple of seconds. No recast time and no req level.

No, I have an original Manastone and yes it's different then the "new" one. It's better because there is no recast. Just CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK as fast as you can and your internet-latency allows.
Yeah, the entire benefit of manastone was when you are in combat. I can keep the pet taking hits while I regen and spam the Manastone. Note that as a solo mage my HP Regen is up over 100, I did that specifically so I could solo more efficiently but it plays right into the manastone. Yeah, I'm level 81 now but I'm going to de-level soon back to 76 because that is such a sweet spot for mage power versus which mobs still yeild exp. I can actually kill MOST of the things at 76 that I can now at 81 but I get far more exp per kill. (up to 6-7AA per lesson burn is not very hard in many exp places...)
So, Splitpaw is a huge hangout for me. I can CRUSH that zone as a 76 mage and spamming the manastone while running around in Skeleton form just feels more fun. That was one of my favorite things to do and a primary reason I keep my account going. I'm going to take a guess that old school manastones changed due to some intended change on the NEW manastones. No way is it required, that item has long since been nerfed. It's pretty much totally useless now where before it was only situationally useful.
Sony, please fix that.

Re: Manastone Broken
Does the mana stone work in revamped zones? I have forgotten, heh.

Re: Manastone Broken
To my knowledge yes. I can say for sure that I use it in Splitpaw (which is revamped from old school low 20's zone) and I also used it a decent amount while soloing in The Estate of Unrest, while the Darkened gear was dropping.
Re: Manastone Broken
wow, what silliness! It's so goofy that they still have it in the game :p But hey! If you've got it, have fun!
