yeah i think mercs can come, but they dont count towards triggering events, one or two you need at least 3 pc to start the event

I took my mage and box bard, two cleric mercs, and was just fine with getting AND triggering the events.

think my situation that time had been, me and merc, invited 3rd person in guild hall to get the task, tried to start the event but couldnt because you needed 3 people present
