I searched, but I couldn't find an answer for this... Does the coth aa use a pearl just like the spell version?

If you are worried about the cost, just grab the Summoner's beckon AA as well. I couldn't tell the last time I bought pearls and it seems I CoH my entire raid at least once per night.

Thanks for the responses. I am not worried about the cost, just wondering if I could clear another slot in my bags... Which brings me to my next question. Did they ever remove the requirement of still needing at least 1 Malachite in your bags to summon a pet even with the AA, I don't remember the name of it...

And that's why I feel that AA is a waste. I can't remember the last time I bought malachite, and I still have 50 or so in my bag.

Well, not a total waste. It still takes up a backpack slot, but at least you never have to buy them anymore. Also, it was more of a waste when you respawned upon death without your gear as you couldn't summon up a pet. Now that you spawn with all your gear, it's all good. Not like it's a ton of AAs to get anyway.
