odd wth?

So pets can tank when a person is in range. I was boxing my a pally last night and broke out the da hammer just to play with some things. Get it to proc and i see my pet on agro now.

When did this happen and is there something in the works that will allow our pets to be a group tank?

You can only do it if you are playing around with the geometry, like standing partially behind a pillar, or a mob is on a ledge... or and this is harder to consistently pull off but you can also do it while fighting mobs on ramps / surfaces that have an uneven Z-axis.

I thought when someone had DA on them, the mob will attack ANYTHING instead of them.

Ya, can't hold agro while DA'ed. That's why tanks can't use that DA hammer all the time.

Your 'test' is kind of lacking information imho.

However, I highly doubt SOE is actively trying to find ways for pets to tank with melee in range. Especially when they are nerfing tanking utility like DA on our pets.

Like it was said though, if you cheese around the zone a bit by using environment to block your char then yes a pet will tank with a melee char in range.

My pet actually tanked with several melee, multiple classes, well within range last night on Kerafyrm during a DDD run. I backed it off and Kerafyrm summoned it continually.

Yeah, Crystallos is different. IDK why but my pet was tanking the majority of the fights also. Kera does do a memblurr which could be an issue.

That is one of the rare areas though.
