In Ssra temple, do you still need to do that awful quest to get up to the emperor?

By no means am I an expert, but I want to say the answer is either no or there is a trick to get into his area without keying.

Did you check Alla? I want to say they had a guide there or at least there were plenty of comments about how to do it.

I found a way around it.
You don't need a key to port into the emperors room, but there is a locked door that rogues need to pick in order to get there.
If you lev on top of it, take lev off and duck, you can fall through the door

Move close to the door in earth elemental form, run into the door take of earth elemental form, presto you are through.
