Fixed that for you.
LOL Too true....too true.
I just remembered I actually had a pet out on a late-night pick up hardmode and he did get the dot. I cured it, but then, I cure just about everything that hits my pet unless cures set off DT's. Not sure if curing a cure that results in a DT will actually do so with a pet, but i do it anyway just to be safe. Say, on VL, I don't cure.
Funny, our pets seem to have lots of exemptions. Just made our first try at Fippy and saw that our pets do damage during the "bane only" portion of the fight. Neat stuff.
The damage they do during the bane only portion is useless - it is all absorbed by the effect Fippy casts on himself over and over in that phase. Only the bane stuff really lowers his hp in that phase.

He puts a buff on himself? Crap.
Minor derail:
We just tired this for the first time yesterday and we had the first phase down easy of course. Our only hangup is this bane bit. Can casters use the bane to buff themselves and have nukes land? What is the buff doing? We have some melee saying the buff only allows them 1 point of damage but it's clearly more as we got him to 72%. I looked these bane weapons up and their buff but it just says "lure" for the effect, so totally useless.
I remember reading on my guild board that some people beat the trial of ingenuity a while back by using pets for all of the damage. Seemed pretty ingenious to me.
